Is no-one else seeing that he kind of turns into good old Dante when he activates that thing, like Devil Trigger? He totally does! White hair and actual red coat! There's some story there people! He's turning into to Dante, or something.

It's his Tony Redgraves story before he finds his identity as Dante and opens up shot. That's the majority guess here.

Meh. The gameplay looks good, the "Dante" not so much. I still think that the franchise should have ended after the third game.

I've never been into DMC so I can't understand why people are so upset with the redesign, but someone earlier gave the example of MGS shifting focus from Snake to Raiden about an hour or two in. Yeah it was jarring at first but MGS is still one of my fav. games of all time. I don't think the gameplay will suffer to much at the expense of a redesigned character. We don't know how long you look like that either, the original dante design was in the trailer, so maybe over the course of the game, he gradually changes to become the character people remember, just speculating here obviously

I don't really care one way or another about Dante's new look, that's not really what made the character anyway. I am concerned with how they keep presenting Dante as this ultra-serious badass, when the biggest part of his character was his humor and laid back attitude.

Thats a well educated guess seeing as he still has his red coat and he's becoming dante devil trigger. We'll know if virgils in it if theres a character named gilver.

I looks like when dante is fighting the demons he's the only one who can see them and all the destruction they cause is reverted (or didn't "really" happen) afterwards. Which would explain in the other trailer why he's in the crazy house and people thinks he's a nut.

Which is just an assumption but I hope its true.

although a bit choppy and not as fluid as one would hope, but then again neither was DMC3.

Okay, good, I'm not the only one. All the animations seemed a bit too stiff to be DMC.

Other than that, trailer looks good. If the gameplay is cleaned up a bit, make the motions and attacks flow better, then I think this will be worth getting.

Hmmm I haven't read any of the Devil May Cry Novels other than the Tokyo Pop Manga of DMC3 Prologue, and I can see that Gilver is just Vergil switched around.

If anything they need to do an Origins story on Vergil considering what he went through just to get Yamato.

Looks like a DMC game, therefore it looks fun. I don't really have a problem with the redesigned Dante. Though apparently instead of Devil Trigger turning you into a demon, you just turn back into Dante Classic.

Sooo...the white hair was the source of his power?

I like the redesign

The visual style of the game looks good and the gameplay looks to be visceral and smooth. If it is indeed a work in progress and is going to be continually refined this could be great.

i'm confident: ninja theory made enslaved and heavenly sword, which were good because of their fighting engines. and what makes DMC so fucking epic?

it's fighting engine.

and, yeah, the cool characters and bosses. besides, these guys are also fantastic at creating good characters and decent stories- something not many game developers can claim. i trust these guys- you will too.

(as long as they make the game longer than they're predecessors and give it a better ending than the ABSOLUTE WORST ENDING IN THE HISTORY OF EVER! that was in enslaved.)

Worst game ending, or worst ending period? Because Fullmetal Alchemist Conqueror of Shamballa had the worst ending ever seen by any man, hands down. The movie was supposed to fix the ending of the show but it had almost the SAME FUCKING ENDING!!!!

EDIT: Sorry, went off topic. I just don't like the design of the Dante, it struck as quite repulsive and annoying. It was like a huge cross between goth and emo, and it looks so far removed from Dante in DMC3 that it's just completely unrecognizable. Not cool. Not cool at all.

well, it's at least gaming's worst ending. why? because the game has an ambivalent ending. i don't mind them normally, but in this case?OH MY GOD, I WOULD'VE PREFERRED IF MONKEY AND TRIP HAD JUST DIED!

anyway, on dante's design: it's not that bad dude.what's wrong with emo? it's only bad if the character himself is very goth or emo, and is dante goth or emo?honestly dude, i doubt ninja theory will get dante wrong- they're excellent at characters, they know what they're doing dude.

also, didja notice how dante went back to his traditional red-and-white look when he went devil-trigger-ish? i've a feelin that dante will only look like that for part of the game. still, only time will tell.

Damn Glad I'm not the only one disappointed by Conquerer of Shambala

I say good luck and hopefully it turns out to be good, but...I just don't like how I could replace the title with any other name and it would be okay. It just doesn't resemble Devil May Cry at all, even down to the "Their Truth is a lie/Don't accept the world as it is" texts.

It seems like a good game, but it's the fact that they're trying to sell it to me as a Devil May Cry game, it just doesn't work for me. It looks like a completely different game with the DMC title.

Like, you know when the Halo anime came out, and they turned Master Chief into a bishi? fans didn't like that. I just don't think you should change such iconic things like that, and turning his hair white in Devil Trigger just reminds me of the inFamous 2 situation.

I'll wait until it comes out, but they said they wanted the west to buy this game. I don't think I'll be one of those people.

I think the game looks great, and to be honest, I don't care if Dante has black hair. As long as he keeps his sarcastic nature, i'm happy
