Not being much of a fan of Seth's other animated endeavors, I see no problem with this. Unlike a lot of va's, he seems to pull off quite a variety of voices.
Taken from the linked article, around halfway down- In the episode, which airs Aug. 14, the Planet Express crew journeys into Fry?s dreams to pull off a mission in the year 1999.BeeGeenie said:... okay, I didn't see anywhere in the linked article where it said it was a dream-sequence, so I'll cling to hope and take your word for it.Bobic said:You guys should relax, it's just a dream. . . Literally, it says in the article that Seth will voice Seymour in Fry's dream. Doesn't seem like a problem to me. Where were you guys when they retconned away the sad ending in Bender's big score.
And Bender's Big Score may have softened the blow, but it didn't fundamentally change the character dynamics. Seymore was still Seymore. (and for that matter, with all the paradoxes, can we be sure that it didn't all happen in some alternate time-line?)
Ah, I see it now, I do feel better about the whole thing now, though I still don't know how to feel about Macfarlane just doing his Brian schtick.twistedmic said:Taken from the linked article, around halfway down- In the episode, which airs Aug. 14, the Planet Express crew journeys into Fry?s dreams to pull off a mission in the year 1999.BeeGeenie said:... okay, I didn't see anywhere in the linked article where it said it was a dream-sequence, so I'll cling to hope and take your word for it.

And the article does say that it will be the one and only time that Seymour speaks.
I was annoyed enough when that happened. I wasn't a big fan of the movies, and I kinda drifted out of watching Futurama after them.Bobic said:You guys should relax, it's just a dream. . . The why is there in the article.KingsGambit said:Aside from the obviously impassioned debate over the choice of VA to voice Fry's dog, it occurs to me that we're missing a more important issue here. Namely, why the heck is Seymour even speaking in the first place (irrespective of who is providing the voice)?
Yeah, I can see Seymour being able to talk in Fry's dreams.... the Planet Express crew journeys into Fry?s dreams to pull off a mission in the year 1999.
Oh, so that's why that opening song sounds like Brian doing his Sinatra thing. The more you know.Blitzwing said:
That's the how, not the why ;-) I got how he's able to speak, but not why he needs to.chimpzy said:The why is there in the article.KingsGambit said:Aside from the obviously impassioned debate over the choice of VA to voice Fry's dog, it occurs to me that we're missing a more important issue here. Yeah, I didn't know that was MacFarlane.
