Whats up with the Escapist's Video player? Its not just me is it? When you click play, it expands so that the video is in the middle of the screen and you cant click on anything on the page without exiting the video. It wasnt like this yesterday. Why did they change it?

'Edit'
With adblocker off the video is surrounded by ads. It all makes senses now. Its still stupid.

I think its just you, get a new internet browser and it should all be good.
Its not my web browser. I tried it in Firefox, IE8 and Opera. Always the same.

I clicked on Loading ready run or whatever its called and was like "hmmm, nothing out of th.... woooooooooooooooooooh."

Yeah, i don't mind, i don't like having a bright background behind a video anyways, youtube hurts my eyes.

Unskippable is doing it for me as well, I'm guessing that something just isn't working properly at the moment.

My guess is their moving to make it so that the videos are centered and everything becomes faded when you play a video (I've seen some other sites use this)

Everything looks fine, except that the background glitches to show a Zero Punctuation video page (could just be me, it may even be a different background for some people, maybe something wrong with cookies or wtvr), so if they fix that I'd actually prefer it this new way.

Just watched the most recent ZP and yeah, it's really weird. Does the upper right corner glitch with anyone else? It seems that the top right corner is lagging behind the rest of the video so you have images cut in half and stuff like that. I guess that it has to have something to do with the stuff behind it. If that gets fixed than I guess it would be ok.

EDIT: Never mind, its fixed now. Must've been my broswer.

Every time I watch a video in the full screen, the top right hand side lags behind the rest of the video, its really anoying.

It's changed for me as well and I cannot seem to get rid of the ad that's covering about 1/6th of the video. Stupid BMO, get out of the way!

EDIT: Not only that but I also cannot find a way to exit out of the video so I can comment on it. This is terribly designed for the less Internet savvy like myself. I wonder if it's because I'm using an older version of Firefox but I always use Firefox instead of Chrome or IE when I'm on this site.

There should be a 'X' button in the top right hand corner.

Happened to me too. I don't really like it, as now I actually have to exit out of the video to do something in the same window, but it's not too terrible. I'm guessing it's just temporary anyways, until they get some crazy, new video player thingy up. Don't know why, though; I thought the old one was just fine.

It's obscured by the ad which doesn't have an x button. The full-sized screen doesn't have an "exit entirely" option and clicking the ad doesn't make it go away. If I want to comment I have to go back a page and go to the comments from there.

Try an adblocker or something? I can't see any ads on my screen.

The business with the BMO adds happened to me too. But now every video goes to the same clip show. Anyone know what that might be all about? I swear I feel like I'm being Rickrolled. It's infuriating, I just want my weekly dose of Zero Punctuation.

This is really annoying.
I found that (vodpod.com) will get rid of the framing nonsense, but all their links from The Escapist get the same 5:25 long spam.

Well I give up. I'll wait till next week and see if the problem gets solved, or if someone more knowledgeable blogs about it. I am interested to know what the deal is. Is it a bug, some sort of unplaned server maintenance, or are we looking at some sort of regional IP filtering shenanigans?
