So, the new Formula 1 season kicked off today, who's excited about that?

I'm glad that it's finally on again, it's been a good four months since last and with the cancellation of the Bahrain race, this was overdue. Anyway, I have to say there were a few impressive things going on at today's race, first off all, Red Bull and especially Vettel seems to be dominated from the start, he was really untouchable from start to finish. Petrov was another driver who really impressed me, getting a third place in the first race. It really is a shame that Kubica isn't racing this year, I really think Petrov and him could have done something spectacular for Renault this year. The last racer that really impressed me was Pérez, but sadly the Saubers were ruled out after the race, as they did not comply with the rules. Having said that, a 7th place in your first F1 race ever is really something.

Also, overall I like the new rules, so far the DRS doesn't seem to do that much, but with more pits there is a whole lot more strategy involved, which should certainly mix things up during the season. I'm pretty excited about seeing if drivers will adapt their driving style to the new tyres or just go with more pitstops.

What did you think about the race and what are you excited about in the upcoming season?

Currently Red Bull are looking great.

Of the rest, only McLaren look like decent competition so far.

Petrov was pretty amazing though, he's certainly proving a few people wrong, myself included. He's more than just a pay driver. I'm sure Kubica could have put it in 2nd place though.

Perez did very well, and I'm pretty impressed with Paul Di Resta too (and not just because he's a fellow Scot!). He even scored a point, but only because the 2 Saubers got excluded, which is a shame.

So, another race was held today. I was very happy to see Button getting second place, I thought he raced just brilliantly and his pitstop was just timed perfectly. Also, I am in awe of Renault again, this time Heidfeld getting a place on the podium. They've developed quite a car this year.

Also, I don't have any particular hate for Vettel, I just think it would be more fun if there were a little more competition for first and it not just being a race for second and down. Having said that, that guy sure knows how to drive a Formula 1 car. He's practically untouchable as it is now.

Anyway, what did everyone else think of race today?

Did anyone catch the amazing race today? It's probably the craziest and best races I've ever seen, so much drama, so much excitement, so much everything, despite the race being stopped for a long time.

Jenson was positively amazing, he was just on fire. I've never seen anything like it, going from 21st to winning the race. That's a true testament to his skill. It was also nice to see that Vettel is human and does make mistakes. Schumacher was pretty damn good as well, I really wanted him to get on the podium, just because of how well he thought.

So, what did everyone else think of the race today?

Oh, and I thought I'd just put this here Group, in case some of you are interested.

I know, it has to go down in the history books as one of the best comebacks in a race ever. As a McLaren man, I was on the edge of my seat the last 10 laps or so, wishing and hoping for Button to do it. And when he finally overtook Vettel, I was cheering loudly(probably a little too loudly), but man was that amazing. I was absolutely speechless that he was able to pull it off, especially with such a limited time left.

an amazin race, simply mesmerising. Was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a podium for schumacher but thewin by button makes up for it all, just brilliant.

Given that I've been cheering Kobayashi since he got into the Toyota race seat, I have been delighted by his success this year, and I was really looking forward to an outstanding result today. OK, it wasn't outstanding in the end, but he did hold it together fairly well.

Oh, myself and the family were cheering as well, and we aren't even explicit McLaren fans. I'm just sick of hearing the Austrian national anthem, and I did support Button during the year at Brawn GP, so I was happy for him.
I have a lot of respect for Kobayashi. He's a great driver, one of the most fun to watch during a regular race(which the one today most certainly wasn't). He's one of the best at shaking things up, with some crazy overtakings from time to time. 7th isn't bad, but of course it could have been better. When the race was stopped it looked pretty sweet for him, being in second place and all. If he had a better car, I'm sure he would be higher up.
