The only thing that interests me about TSW is the investigative missions/quests where you have to search for clues and do research outside of the game in order to complete it. That and the customization. I'm interested in it and hope it's good. I hope to see a lot of different creatures than the zombies in the first area and see how they put their 'monster ecology' idea in effect with them.

The area shown in the GDC walk-through is a town called Kingsmouth (This may sound familiar to any H.P.Lovecraft fans, Innsmouth anyone?) Anyway, I believe the story behind Kingsmouth is that one day a mist appeared, the people vanished and then returned, only they where dead, I guess that's why there was a lot of focus on zombies. I have seen other monsters and such in other videos, Big ass mutant things, Chthulu looking things, Deamons, Were's, Vamps, Lizard people, Pretty much every conspiracy/myth you can think of.

Pretty awesome trailer, I have a real interest in this game. It's just a shame that I have a shitty netbook to play PC games on and it would never be able to handle anything like that.
Crap. Ninja'd (or rather...assassinated).

I don't know. I've heard of this game, but I'm already planning on getting Guild Wars 2 when it comes out. I might look into it more, but I don't think I'd have time for 2 MMOs.

I've seen plenty of Kingsmouth (thanks for the reminder) and know a lot about the upcoming creatures. I've been following TSW for about 2 years now, since the Firestarter trailer was released I think. I'm just more interested in the other creatures than the ones in Kingsmouth, to me they're rather bland and boring along with the environment (I know it's supposed to be a small town so it's meant to be like that), I just want to see more interesting areas, cities, mountains, etc, which ties into the creature ecology I look forward to in the other areas. I'd like to see how things work. Think werewolves and vampires are gonna fight in the middle of the city at night? Shadow demons in alley ways and so on. Thats what i'm more interested in lol

This looks a lot like it's trying to be "the last word" in fantasy - an all-encompassing, all-inclusive gameworld filled with every imaginable brand of generic fantasy fiction. Incredibly compelling stuff, in theory. In practice, it's almost guaranteed to be fatally unfocused.

I'm reminded of Suckerpunch. Editors aren't always a bad thing.

Never heard of it before, and my time may be taken up by GW2, but who knows when that's coming out(seriously, if you know fucking tell me)

Basically this. Hopefully they'll just focus on demons, monsters, and magic, and forget about the other crap. But if they try to put every conspiracy in there it'll just be random and confusing.

Actually... I recall seeing something on this game several years ago, apparently it doesn't have levels or attribute points, or anything of that sort, of course that was some time ago and things might have changed.

I've been looking forward to this for a while, I hope it turns out as good as it looks.
I don't know whether to go Dragon or Templar. The Illuminati seem a bit dull though.

I wonder if the character customization is so good I can make my templar look like Dante from Devil May Cry

Sounds like It could be pretty amazing, it?s selling a lot. No levels, no specific classes, everything open to everyone, freedom, a huge amount of customization and an almost limitless amount of myths, legends and conspiracies to draw from.

I think it?s going to fall a bit short, at least at first. It has a lot that could be added to it but it needs to be released as some point so it can make some money. They will release it and add things in latter to extend its content along with tweaking things to work out better. Not because they will release an unfinished product but because there will always be so much more they could add to it. Leave a game open to the player like that you also leave room to add things in at any time. Skills, customization stuff and quests based off whatever the fuck they feel like at the time because they?ve left it so open in terms of subject matter.

Although with so many possible skills to choose from some will probably end up useless. You?ll get bad combinations and as time goes on the players will make up classes based off of the more powerful skills and what will work best together. With so many skills and no restrictions on them it will also make it hard to balance and it almost certainly wont be at first and probable for quite some time.
