Saw this MMO awhile ago. Took the test back when the website was just a bunch of random symbols that people assumed were a countdown. I'm an Illuminati and proud of it. I've been keeping an eye on this, and pray to god it's good. I really want it to be good since I love conspiracy theories. :(

And lol at the guy who said Nothing is permitted. I thought that too the first time I saw the title.

I'm already aware of The Secret World and am only moderately excited about it. It was announced some time ago but seems to be taking some time before it is to be released. I want to see more gameplay stuff, like the UI and know more about what the monthly cost might be before I get too attached to it.

Translation: we're going to make you press the '1' key and grind until you bleed out your ears.
Actually... I recall seeing something on this game several years ago, apparently it doesn't have levels or attribute points, or anything of that sort, of course that was some time ago and things might have changed.
That's all still true, No levels, No classes, Full freedom.

My sister and I have been following the development of this game for a while now. It really looks promising. Like many have already said, if they can pull it off, it's going to be amazing. Hopefully once the beta hits (i assume there will be a beta, i haven't checked the facts), the Hype Train will hit as hard as possible and they'll be able to get a decent player base right off the bat.

Are there any goals in this level-less, classless game? Or do you just wander about solving whatever little puzzles you come across to be rewarded with a random picture or phrase that has no meaning out of context as it is, ex Uru? Which was an interesting game, as was the Myst series, but it's not going to hold your attention for more than a week in most cases.
haha! You'd think so wouldn't you. From what I can make of it there is still a point to doing quests. When you start out in the game you are an initiate of your chosen society, In time players will rise in rank giving them access to new areas, new items and new abilities. A sneaky way of adding player levels really, Everyone knows you need that "carrot" to dangle in front of the player in order to keep MMO players interested.

I appreciate their methods of building hype, and I actually liked the all-captions trailer more than I thought I would. Either way, I'm not interested in MMOs, and I base all my impressions on gameplay.

Frankly the gameplay looks mediocre at best and boring at worst. But then I look at the world they're putting together, the stunning artwork and a genuinely clever, intelligent, and refreshingly new setting and I'm willing to forgive the by-the-numbers combat system. Because my god does it look nice!

Still, I'm kinda MMO'd out to get my hype up for another MMO. I'm burned out on the genre. Might give it a try when it comes out, but there's no rush.

That said I really hope the game does well however. I truly and genuinely do. Why? So that Ragnar can have the money and freedom he needs to go and continue The Longest Journey series. Please please please PLEASE continue the series!

The thing to remember is that the game play shown so far has all been alpha/very early beta footage.

An MMO on the 360... I guess I would try a demo.

The other link that shows game play wasn't that impressive, but who knows what it will be when complete.
Noone is going to pay for XBL as well as a sub to a single online game. Bad idea.
Why not?

I pay for my XBL account, I also play MMO's (EVE) that require a monthly fee. It doesn't matter where they are played if they are good games.
Exactly

I think it was twice or 3 times that Funcom charged me 5 times for the same month back in Anarchy Online. As good as they might be able to make a game, I won't be dealing with a company that can't keep its billing system under control.

That's mostly what Funcom lacked in AoC, although the first 20 levels felt like an achievement there was almost zero content worth playing and still is very little choice in it(did actually finish all of the endgame content as a HoX before people start whining at me that I missed things, AoC's endgame PvP was a joke and raiding was like WoW only condensed into something bland and buggy).
I personally expect more of the same from funcom, a nice looking MMO with some interesting sounding feature like the combo mechanic in AoC that falls flat due to lack of variety and content.
