From what I have curently seen we have entered the era of great games. Im talking Halo 3:ODST, Halo Reach, Left 4 Dead 2, Assasins Creed 2, Mass Effect 2 (lot of 2's?),Crackdown 2 & even some origonals like Prototype. I am making this for you all to put up the games you are looking forward to. Play nice. (please forgive any spelling errors)

Halo 3:ODST? I like Halo 3 it is far from master piece but it IS a good game, just not the 2nd coming which is what everyone compared it to. Halo Reach = ? never heard of it. The rest all good from what I can see.
Assassins Creed 2, Crackdown 2 are the ones I can't wait for. The halo ones will probably be good too.

There are so many sequels and prequels coming out that I'm losing faith in 'new' games. Even golden sun is just a re-make of an old game.
Personally I'm hoping for something original to spring out and suprise me.

Crackdown was boring, Assassins Creed was dull (hopefully the sequel will fix this, making me pay some attention to it), and I'm afraid Left 4 Dead 2 is just pushing the game closer and closer to generic FPS. It shouldn't be turned into a franchise like this, people will lose sight of what made the game unique.emh204 said:

This is the reason I'm excited for Brutal Legend. It doesn't look like an epic masterpiece, but Tim Schafer always delivers a unique and enjoyable experience. And don't forget the tiny tease at the new Bethesda game, Brink. It looks like a fresh IP, and I can't wait for some more info on it.british.butterfly said:

I agree. This was one announcement that really made me raise an eyebrow. The fact that they announced an '09 release date is what made it seem almost laughable. The content they showed looks more like an expansion pack than a true sequel, and with such a short deadline, it doesn't have much time to improve. I wish they would focus more on some fresh IP's, but we'll have to wait and see. It's far too early to judge it just yet.AstorSapolsky said:

I think the 360 just murdered the competition in the first day... Besides from software, Natal, if successful, will make some games more fun. I was already gonna pre-order Halo 3: ODST, but this makes me more happy. 
I'll get MW2, Bioshock 2, Assassin's Creed 2, and I'll try The Old Republic. Mass Effect 2 is iffy if they haven't changed and improved the gameplay greatly. Imho, I think Prototype is getting a little overrated, I mean it looks good but it doesn't look any closer to a 10 than Bioshock, Halo 3, CoD: MW, and inFamous were.

i think the old republic is probably the only mmorpg thingy i'm interested in getting. Mainly bcs i loved the old republic games on xbox, even liked sith lords till it bugged on me at the very end so i cdnt get through a door to the final section ;P
ODST looks interesting, but im a bit skeptical to how bungie cd pull off tactical play or whatever, if thats what its meant to be i could be wrong. The gameplay seemed similar to halo 3 but more toned down in terms of numbers of enemies or so. Plus it really reminds me of republic commado, especially with the squad look and HUD.

EDIT- i wonder how long it will take for the numerous zombie lovers here to start making threads on how the chainsaw would get jammed up with zommeat lol
