I'd like to see a game in a fantasy setting that doesn't involve elves, dwarves, dragons or even humans. An entirely new kind of world, with gameplay that focuses on exploration and freedom of movement. With as little English (or any human language) as possible.

I will never see anything like it, but it would be neat!
I'm with you. I love stuff like Oddworld. Most devs probably think it will alienate everyone, but instead they're just stagnating everything with the same tried and true tropes.

I'm sick of playing either:

1. fantasy elf/dragon/orc lands
2. Sci-fi future with sexy aliens and creatures that rip off Xenomorphs and Tyrannids
3. Modern military vs third world terrorist shooters

Mix it up peoples!

The Species Survival genre would deal with first selecting a 'class'(which opens up a selection of jobs to perform to keep the society going) after which one would go about finding a mate(a challenging enough objective unto itself which can be complicated by the class that the character starts off as), next successfully conceiving then carrying to term then nurturing children as close as one can come to one's ideals in a hostile natural environment or 'low level/primitive' civilization.

Not only would a mother have to watch her food intake to maintain her own health but to give the baby what s/he needs while trying to minimize the amount of toxins and pathogens that mother and child are exposed to through food and their surroundings but not necessarily avoiding them altogether as it would weaken their resistances ultimately, all while avoiding predators, surviving natural disasters, outlasting plagues and fending off or otherwise dealing with rival societies, eventually raising them to adulthood where the player has to do it all again while trying to improve the state of the primitive society be it through inventions or alliances, etcetera.

No,the protagonists do not have to be humans. They could even be hyena-people or have spiny skin whose spines act like feelers or thought transmitter antennae. The only limitation to be in this genre is that it has to involve an individual's or single family group's contributions to the survival of a larger group in a highly unstable environment.

Try Firefall. It's a MMOThirdPersonShooter.

That's the karutomaru phrase, time, money, and effort.

You know, good games can be made without a lot of money. Or are you going to completely disregard almost every indie game ever?

How about a game where I get to play as a bounty hunter but let me do it with a friend.

A Coop/online game
Where me and my buddy are teamed up to try to take down a target but we are competing with other teams trying to get the same guy.
(we may not be directly fighting one another but we are competing for the same prize)
With a persistent world and a large amount of players say 64 teams but you might only see 1-2 other teams at any given time and the most you will know about these people would be from looking at newspapers and some interactions (Trading info with another team) The world would have to be large so maybe have it be like across a couple different cities in the not so distant future.
I think it would be great to have a sort of community building in your game but that also means people are building reputations and competing with each other for different targets maybe have small servers with your character bound to it while also having a larger persistent game letting you enhance your equipment and make use of your hard earned cash.

Think of it like a persistent world where you and your friend are teamed up as bounty hunters to compete for cash which you can use to enhance your gear or your base.

This is more the idea for a game then a genre but I like using it for an example for the idea of a genre where it is coop us vs. the world in an online environment.(I am hesitant to say MMO because it wouldn't be THAT large scale.)

Maybe, but great games sure as hell do.
And I look down on most indie devs.
Uh....
Why? You make no logical sense. Sacks of money are not required for a good game. It helps, but you can make a fun game with only a bit. Just because a game has more money backing it does not make it better 100% of the time.

Also, respond my question in the other thread that I'm sure you can't think of a right answer for.

I would like to play a true God game, wherein you create a world or universe or whatever and must actively create stuff to directly oppose/defend yourself from a Devil. The tutorial level/level one should be where you actually create the world (or your first world). The next level introduces demonic creatures and you have to create a race to oppose them and save the world you just created. I guess this is starting to sound like Sim City/Spore mixed with Starcraft or something...and it would be basically that: you upgrade your people by building churches, laboratories, etc but you don't directly build them: you give NPCs 'divine inspiration' to do the work their own damned selves, building up DI points by...I dunno, defeating evil? Going X days/weeks/months/years/ etc without all of your creations being killed?

...

We need more space-combat sims too. Also, whatever the Hell X-Men Legends and, Marvel Ultimate Alliance are: more of that.

I don't think I can name a single example comparison that can prove that.
Minecraft was made cheaply. Better then those knockoff XBLA titles that obviously have more money in them

A game called pineapple smash crew was made cheaply, and that's a ton of fun.

Terraria is possibly the best sidescrolling sandbox game ever

And if you look down on indie studios- do you look down on valve?
They've been technically an indie studio for a long time. I'm not sure if they still are.

Capcom releases those new versions of street fighter that have practically no money put in, but are better than the original because of maybe a few new characters. (HOW can you still say they don't care about money even with all the SF releases at full price? street fighter 2 turbo was exactly the same game, but with faster speed, and it was full price. Can't you see this?)

Also, because I want to get your attention

I'm a Nintendo gamer, so I can't tell you about the other 2 games. They're probably good though.
"probably good"

You realize the same could be said about Ubisoft's games that aren't on a Nintendo platform?
Answer this.

Ubisofts games are often, not terrible.

Was this directed at me?

Also, I don't think he'll be getting back to you any time soon.
No, I just really want an answer from him. The answer he gives will help determine if he's a troll or if he's just unaware of reality.

EDIT:

Mother of god! He's been banned!

A revival of AAA Metroidvania games, would be most welcome. If somebody could work good co-op into that genre my pants would explode.

Shooters need more Crysis jungle and Far Cry 2 fire, merged with squad based tactics like Brothers in Arms.
Nothing like chopping down trees with suppressive fire.

What about guerilla gameplay? I mean, Red Faction Gorilla was anything but guerrilla fighting. I want the smalls squads "Commandos"-style, killing sentries silently and just sneaking into bases like a foursome of Solid Snakes in Peace Walker.

Then probably steal uniforms, search for blueprints of the buildings to find their stress points (or just have a degree in engineering and make the calculations yourself, lol) and rig explosives on the right places, making it crumble on top of the troops outside, hauling ass back to base.

And how about assassinating key people Hitman style?

I would like to see the return of games that have enough in them to last for years (like 80's and 90's rpg's like LoZ and Final Fantasy) then imagine what developers could do with the time you spend looking for hidden sidequests and secrets with a reason for replays and this business model would be kinder on the gamer who can't buy something every week.

I would like to see some kind of RTS FPS mix (One player doing each, working togeter to complete the missions)
