Hemsworth's cringey acting made me smile, I'll admit.

The black lady still makes me want to stick barbecue sticks under someone's fingernails though.

Yeah, not as bad. Still not anything I'd ever spend any money on.

Also, what is it about current American comedy and the need for having that awkward pause humor. 'Oh wait, you were-... Okay my bad I thought I was gonna...' These sort of joke stumbles that are apparently funny for not landing, cuz 'Oooh awkwardness'.

And those ghosts still look like assests from a scrapped early 2000 CGI cartoon.

Kinda wish this film didn't have the weird politics surrounding it so that we could all unanimously agree that it's a complete waste of time.

Did they seriously bring back the stay puff marshmallow man? I don't think it can be said enough times, fuck this unoriginal, painfully unfunny movie.

it was a better trailer, I actually chuckled a couple of times. It still doesn't look good, but if that had been the first trailer I probably would have taken a more "wait and see" approach. That said, it's still pointlessly derivative of the original and most of the jokes still fell horribly flat. I'm pretty sure "remember this!?" moments are only going to serve to piss people off at this point.

Also, there's no way that "race or lady" bit wasn't intentional. Graceful.

I liked how they did the tired old 'fat person jumped into the crowd and nobody tried to catch them and they landed on the ground' routine, and then tried to turn it into a race/gender thing. That's the entire film there.

Feig wasn't wrong. Geek culture is fucking horrible, and a good deal of vitriol being leveled at the film is a consequence of that.

This being said, the majority of the vitriol is a consequence of the film looking absolutely shit. I've said it once, I'll say it a thousand times. They already tried to re-capture Ghostbusters, with all all-star cast of comedy legends at the height of their popularity. It was a raging stinker. There is nothing bulletproof about "Ghostbusting" as a concept. Ghostbusters was a happy accident that became an iconic 80's film. Some shit was not meant to be remade, or re-attempted. Would you reboot Back to the Future? Or Breakfast Club? I realize remakes are a thing and you're never going to get away from them entirely, but for the love of god stay away from iconic films.

Well, I don't know about that mad colour palette, but I'm sure it'll look kickin' in 3D and the kids'll love it. Totes amaze, but I think I'll probably check out what else is on that week. If the schoolkids are all watching that, I might get a really quiet screening of something else.

Because they don't understand/care about timing and discipline. A lot of "comedies" are just two people flinging dirty lines and references at each other until something sticks and is considered good enough to go on to the next scene. Creative set-ups, subtle acting, writing and direction take time and effort, which doesn't necessarily pay off, while Meet The Spartans might make money ass over fist with comparatively little risk. Why craft something like Hot Fuzz when you can just string together a load of bits and make Ted 2?

I wouldn't say that kind of humour just plain isn't funny, but it rarely gets a chuckle out of me, while I can watch Fry and Laurie over and over.

No, from what I heard it's going to be the Ghostbusters logo ghost, but Godzilla-sized. ...Yeah, I don't really know what the thought behind this is.

Really? Must be a tiny fellow, parked behind the giant, burned Klansman.

You should see some of the stuff being aimed at the Angry Video Game Nerd. I watched this trailer and his video on why he doesn't want to review the film...and I don't see what the problem is. His reasons appear clear. This film's release is steeped in hideous nastiness, but the people happy to just dismiss it as mere misogynistic whining are just pouring more fuel on the fire. Few things kick shit off better than antagonizing and alienating a whole bunch o' people.

Still looks bad, to be honest, and again the best thing about it in my opinion was Thor guy. One thing made me laugh, though, and that thing was the... dislike bar. I'm sorry but I don't think comedy movies can compete with the internet.

This one:

Doesn't seem hateful to me. And check out the ongoing war in the comments section. Films might end up profiting off this kind of controversy, but it's miserable for anything else.

Wow. Just Wow. That somehow was somehow even worse than the first one. At this point I want to see the film just to see how bad it is, but I don't want to spend a single penny to see it. I might actually find it online shortly after it comes out.

I know that certain people have tried to claim that people hate it because the leads are women. Could it be possible that people hate it because it looks like the shitest film of the year? I just cannot find the words to express the level of hate I feel for this film.

Maybe its a Ghostbusters thing, maybe because I grew up with the films and the cartoons and the toys that I finally know the feeling of having my childhood violated. Maybe if it was somethin else, called Ghostcatchers. Or Spookhunters. I would probably feel slightly less aggrieved. But as it stands, I think I can hear Harold Ramis turning in his grave.

I just...ugh. This is the last thing I have to say about this "film".

Eh. It's pedantic and he's complaining about (IMO) the wrong things, but whether or not one guy goes to see a movie is hardly newsworthy. I suppose you could knock him for pre-judging it, but that's what trailers are for. If your shitty trailer scares people off your movie, that's on you, not them.

Bayformers didn't do that for you already?

That trailer made me chuckle in a few places and was far less cringe-worthy than the first. Had this been the first trailer I'd seen I might have gone and seen the movie.

I would have to dig it up and re-watch it, but the fan-cut version might have been better still...but that would lack Hemsworth, so I dunno.

It's gone from looking notably awful to completely throwaway and forgettable.
