New Hard Drive Help

Okay so my old hard drive seemed to have died 2 days ago so I bought a new bigger one. I was able to save my old hard drive by reinstalling my operating system. Well now I have a new harddrive that I have installed and cannot access it currently. How do I make it so that I can access it and then format it so that I can use it to start saving things to it?

I guess you're using a windows based operating system.
If that's the case, open Run (Windows Key + R) and type

compmgmt.msc

Followed by an enter.
Then a window will open - click the Disk Management under Storage.
Let it load, and you will see something like this:

From your post, you said that you have two hard drives, one that's active (blue) and one that's inactive (black)
Right click the black one, and choose "Format..."

The rest should be straight forward!

(PS: You should choose NTFS as the file system, and go with the default on rest)
