A Magical Detector.

Using the IR and Speaker of the Wii Remote, you point at the screen until you find a secret switch, at which point a noise will eminate from the remote, getting louder as you get closer. Then you use it, revealing the invisible object or enemy.

Shut up. If you're going to say that, at least paste a link to the existing thread, or your point isn't valid. If that's all you're going to say, don't bother contributing to boost your post count.

OT: Some sort of stealth device would be interesting. It'd add a new dimension to the game for sure.
That would be nice, but I can also see it going badly. They'd have to be careful about how they implement it.

A harp to replace the ocarina (sorry) that can be used to control animals/enemies and can summon the power of the wind.
So, basically, Medli's Harp mixed with the Wind Waker?

Goron Gloves: Allows you to lift almost all objects and throw them.

Dual-Wielded Swords: ...

That's all I have.
Sounds a bit like the bracelets that made you very strong in Wind Waker.
Or the bracelets in OoT that made you very strong. Or the gauntlets in OoT that made you very strong. Or the mask in MM that made you very strong.
Yeah, this series likes its repetition, but I think they still pull it off well.

Not the EXACT same thread, but same idea, and more importantly the same DAY.
Seeing as that thread was yours, I'm going to assume you aren't normally a deja nazi, but Wrong Sprite's comment still stands. If you feel you need to deja nazi: A) Provide a link in the post in which you call them out and B)Contribute to the thread besides that.

Wait are you serious?

My forum is "New Items for a Zelda game" yours is "Ideas for a new Zelda." You can't claim rights to that b/c that topic is too broad. It covers characters, stories, items, bosses, dungeon design, etc.

Mine is just items/weapons.

Besides I'm sure someone has done both of our forum topics long before either of us thought of ours.

It's okay, let it go. You learn to ignore the Deja Nazis eventually.

The Zelda series does need some serious innnovations on the item department.

Stopwatch--You click it and for a limited time everything stops. There would have to be obvious limitations, but I think it would be useful in fights and puzzles.

Bird Call--Calls a large bird for you to ride on, I imagine it would be like the horse or boat.

Portal Projecter--basically the same one from Portal, but perhaps not a gun.

A staff that lets you jump into the mind of your enemies (overshadowing?). The ocarina of time with songs to reverse time, spped time, and warp time. I dunno, a portable, robotic cuckoo...

how about a magic item thats based on water? Like a staff that shoots a powerful jet of water, kind of like the fire staff in four swords. Or maybe like a bubble wand that makes bubbles you can ride up to hard to reach places, or encase enemies in them for a short period of time. or maybe a type of hookshot/slingshot device that you could refill with water and shoot icicles that would freeze enemies.

A massive axe acquired in some sort of forest temple, that is used for combat and cutting down trees and pillars for various puzzles.

I hope the next Zelda, every item is actually useful in combat so it won't go the way of the Spinner. Used twice and then forgotten.
