So the inevitable Live Action CoD was released today, titled "Surprise"

And one of these surprises was Robert Downey Jr showing up in the trailer, alongside FPSRussia and others who I have no idea who they are (apparently one of them is Jack Black, but if it's the one I think people are thinking of, I personally didn't think it was).

So while it doesn't show anything about the game, it's always good to see RDJ, and also listen to Back In Black, which must be his theme tune now.

And finally, to fit in with the theme.

I think this trailer really sums up COD, all style, no substance, and expensive!

Or more like it says: "Hey this game cares more for fun then realism!"

God people will find anything to hate even if it's not there.

Not only is this trailer awesome but it also perfectly sums up CODs multiplayer what with someone constantly spawning behind someone else.

im gathering bruce campbell either refused or charged too much to appear :D
Im guessing that aswell specially seeing as the reference to the evil dead series would of been much funnier if it was Bruce Campbell doing it rather then some random afro'd dude.

That trailer actually convinced me that I must buy this game. Multiple times (Well, not that extreme, but I will be picking it up now.)

Really looking forward to this for Zombies alone. How anyone can just brush off what is for all purposes a veritable stand-alone "side game" that provides endless replay value in your efforts to survive into higher rounds is beyond me. Not only that, but they are adding in a players vs. zombies. vs. players mode where last team with a man standing wins... AND Tranzit with a big open world style map that you can traverse by bus or on foot with themed areas to visit to power up at.

Zombies just got insanely upgraded and will no doubt be the biggest thing for months.

Maybe the escapist is hung up on story driven single player games; but I had my fill back in the 90s and they were like 20 times better than the schlock they make today. It's all about co-op and MP today and single player is a waste of time. I don't even remember playing first black ops single player, but spent like 300 hours on zombies.

It's no different than when we used to spend hours on starcraft, warcraft, C&C, etc., the games did not offer much to do- but what they did offer they did flawlessly and it was fun to play with/against other people without it being all about PvP. That's why zombies is fun.

Conversely, I think I drove about 100 yards after starting GTA4 and said, meh and uninstalled. Seriously, once I "felt" the game I knew it just wasn't worth my time as I had seen the sights in games just like it plenty of times before.

And yet this made me smile, faith in Escapist + whatever seems like a good number.

While I don't care for the games myself anymore that was one great advert, glad to see some companies having a bit of fun with their work and not trying to be 'dark, gritty and so deep you'll be crushed from the pressure of our deepness' 24/7. Part of me can't help but think this is what a Timesplitters 4 advert would look like.

Yeah, but CoD often tries too hard to be serious. Look at Black Ops. Its story is a ridiculous mish-mash of Cold War movies, and Woods is so jaded or insane (I'm still not sure which) it's comical. I like the balance, but it come off as phony most of the time.

But to Final Dream I don't no about NO substance. They still put in work to try and not fuck it up. In todays market, you CAN make a game based on it's multiplayer. It's artistically dishonest, but it's economically successful.

Indeed, I stopped playing CoD games after I beat Black Ops 1. Personally I grew tired of the yearly CoD entries that continue to over saturate the FPS market. Then again I have to tip my hat to the Marketing and Advertising team or whomever made this thing cause it is good!

No, my faith in Escapist minus 5, it's already much lower then that.

You know, as much as I loathe Call of Duty, you got to admit, they make pretty good trailers.

I didn't like the trailer.
It seemed like it was just saying "look we have lots of money here are some celebrities and explosions happen." But I may still get black ops 2 after I liked the local multiplayer of Black ops 1.
Mw3 live action adverts were better in my opinion.
