Ugh. You know I'm not entirely sure why but I just don't like DLC for
Mass Effect. I think it's because I basically have to start a new playthrough just to experience it. I finished up all of my
Mass Effect 2 playthroughs. I might start another one down the line, but I don't want to do that just because of DLC.
I guess that's why DLC like this bothers me. It takes what has been, until now, a significant plot thread. Now because it's being resolved in DLC, it's importance is obviously going to decrease significantly. BioWare can't make any things that would have a huge impact on the story occur in DLC because they know that a large chunk of players will never experience it. To have these DLCs play a large role in
Mass Effect 3 would leave many players confused. You can do that with an expansion pack, but not little bits of DLC. So despite this DLC dealing with a significant plot event, I have no interest in starting a new playthrough because I know that because it is DLC it will ultimately be insignificant.
Though this will have the amusing side effect of encouraging the idea that BioWare's writers favor the Liara romance, and the arguments about that are always good for a laugh.

Damn, I have to pay extra cash to finally find out who the Shadow Broker is???
Goddamn it.
It's the Geth anyway.
How does that make sense? It's confirmed in
Mass Effect 2 that the Shadow Broker tried to sell Shepard to the Collectors. The Shadow Broker being a Geth doesn't make any sense in that regard.
