What ever happened to a good old fashioned expansion pack? Seriously, I can't stand DLC.
Its easier and cheaper for games companies to put it online than on a disk in a game store. Halo 3: ODST is an example of Bungie being too greedy and essentially charging full price for a DLC. Halo 3 ODST
Usually however, DLC's are small little insubstantial things that are overpriced and understuffed.

Wow, I'm getting the feeling I'm the only one who liked "Overlord" and "Stolen Memories"...
I think a lot of the people who say Bioware DLC sucks haven't played those two. And I don't really blame them, most of the dlc for ME2 and DA (especially the early ones, and the item packs) have been, to put it nicely... weak. I don't blame people for not giving the new ones a shot.

That said, I dug Liara in the first one, and I have read the Mass Effect comic, so I'm pretty excited for this. Especially after the excellent Overlord DLC, Bioware is doing just fine for storyline DLC.

Goddamn it! Are they going to make this tie into ME3? They are aren't they! Gah!

Now I have to play this stupid DLC to get any extra background Shadow Broker stuff in ME3, I just know it.

Bioware!!! *shakes fist*

Ooh, looks shiny. I find however that pretty much all Bioware DLC is a lot more enjoyable if you buy it and then play it as part of a proper playthrough. If you just buy it and play it on it's own it's a lot less rewarding.

You know, except that it was Microsoft's decision.

(Shocked) The Shadow Broker?
(Scared) The Shadow Broker?
(Resolved) The Shadow Broker.

+1 to anyone who gets that.

Anyways, I think it'll be interesting. I've always wanted to know more about The Shadow Broker.

Bah. The only Bioware DLC that's even remotely good is...the EXPANSION for Dragon Age.

I'll skip this.

Dear Bioware...

Fire your DLC team. Your core games are solid, but FIRE YOUR DLC TEAM.
Even Overlord?
No, no one who has played Overlord would ever make a statement like this.

OT: I kinda wished they would have saved this for ME3, I don't know how a DLC would do justice to what could be something as epic as the Shadow Broker and his/her/its identity. But, I'll play it before I pass judgment.

Obviously you haven't played much of Bioware's DLC...

Also, Awakening isn't really DLC. Not for the PC, anyway, unless you buy it for Direct Download.

I've played:

Warden's Keep

Darkspawn Chronicles

All the free ME2 ones

Return to Ostagar

Awakening

Of those, only Awakening was anywhere near good. I'm not touching Bioware DLC with a ten-foot pole.

And don't even get me started on the massive shitfest that was Firewalker.

No accounting for taste, then. I've enjoyed their DLC thus far, especially the new Leliana's Song one. Haven't gotten Darkspawn Chronicles, though, simply because it doesn't interest me.

I feel like your comment is outdated, stranger. Blizzard used to be worth your buck. Now they are as greedy as everyone else that stumbles upon a gold mine. The Frozen Throne kicked ass though, you are right.
DLC = Bad
Expansion = Mmm mmm Good

I thought the Shadow Broker was supposed to appear in ME3.
well this isn't exactly ME2 but more like ME 2.5

It may seem like we will have Liara T'Soni back as a squad member in ME3.....if everything goes well and she doesn't end up dying

I consider that a smart move blizzard did. The DLC that was planned to be released with the game during development I hate.

Ugh. You know I'm not entirely sure why but I just don't like DLC for Mass Effect. I think it's because I basically have to start a new playthrough just to experience it. I finished up all of my Mass Effect 2 playthroughs. I might start another one down the line, but I don't want to do that just because of DLC.

I guess that's why DLC like this bothers me. It takes what has been, until now, a significant plot thread. Now because it's being resolved in DLC, it's importance is obviously going to decrease significantly. BioWare can't make any things that would have a huge impact on the story occur in DLC because they know that a large chunk of players will never experience it. To have these DLCs play a large role in Mass Effect 3 would leave many players confused. You can do that with an expansion pack, but not little bits of DLC. So despite this DLC dealing with a significant plot event, I have no interest in starting a new playthrough because I know that because it is DLC it will ultimately be insignificant.

Though this will have the amusing side effect of encouraging the idea that BioWare's writers favor the Liara romance, and the arguments about that are always good for a laugh.

Damn, I have to pay extra cash to finally find out who the Shadow Broker is???

Goddamn it.

It's the Geth anyway.
How does that make sense? It's confirmed in Mass Effect 2 that the Shadow Broker tried to sell Shepard to the Collectors. The Shadow Broker being a Geth doesn't make any sense in that regard.

So I am kind of confused on this. Will you need to have played all the DLC for Mass Effect 2 that they have been adding to understand some of the story plots in ME3 when it comes out, or will it not play into the main ME3 story? Or will they just have the game fill in your 'past' actions like they did when you started a new Shepherd with out bringing over a ME1 saved game?

Yeah I was refering to the fact you said Blizzard is "Blizzard is one of the few companies that are worth your buck 100%, shoulda snipped it but I couldn't be bothered, and I didn't explain why because it basically goes without saying"
