So it is now Metal Gear with Zombies on it somehow. Also it is an alternative universe, so it is not a main canon story. Finally there is a rumor Big Boss will make an appearance.
Very curious to see if it is as fun as L4D games.

It really doesn't look too bad. I mean, its not particularly interesting, but it doesn't look horrible either.

The obvious problem is of course the hardcore fans will object that it is not anymore a Metal Gear game.

Well, in my opinion if indeed Konami give a damn about their property, maybe we will have a new RE4 game in our hands.
Also I welcome the idea of The Terminator Big Boss because of the alyernative story line.
The fans will know what I am talking about

This is pretty much the most creatively bankrupt thing Konami could do with the Metal Gear Solid franchise. I love the idea of alternate universe stuff and letting the developers do some wacky things with it and in theory Metal Gear Solid is the perfect environment for it. I mean, we've had weird stuff in the main series and that's without even getting to Metal Gear Rising so why not do an alternate universe thing?

A huge blank canvas for Konami to paint on and the best they could come up with was 4-player zombie survival. Well done, Konami, knocked it out of the park again.

Konami, the fuck?

You've got your grubby little hands on Metal Gear, a franchise that includes outlandish characters like a pyromaniac astronaut, a minigun-toting native American, a psychic gimp, several cyborg ninjas, a fat demolitions expert on rollerskates, that dude with the bees and a half-plant 100 year old sniper.

This game? White soldier dude, black soldier dude, another white soldier dude with a spear and a soldier dude/girl(?) with a bow.

No wonder they went with the rather played out coop zombie survival genre. They used up all their creativity for the character designs.

HIT THE LEV....wait, what?

I'm mildly curious but have low expectations. As much as I like MGS, action and shooting was never the games strength. Plus with Konami gutting themselves like they did, I imagine we have ourselves an Infinity Ward 2.0 situation; a studio/game in name alone.

The Sniper 3 ad before this looked at least 5x better.

Way to go Konami. Hope sales of your L4D ripoff are beyond your wildest expectations.

Having said that, I am surprised it wasn't just a pachinko game.

*Before watching trailer*

"You know what the kids these days love? Zombies! Zombies in everything! Look how much money COD makes with zombies in every game...LOOK! That's the money we're after...get on it!"

*After watching trailer*

How have they made it look even more drab than the setting already sounds?? Lifeless stock characters, dull colour palette, humanoid enemies, unoriginal weapons....how?? My eyes glazed over as they went journeying to much better places than what was presented.

Edit: And now COD (the poster game for unoriginality) has their upcoming zombies in space. In the 80's!! Keep up, konami. Jeez, you old, withering fart.

m8, it ain't even just the fact that it's not a Metal Gear game. Metal Gear Rising was flipping amazing.

This? This is a co-op zombie game. There is nothing more rote and banal than co-op zombie games, and the fact that it doesn't fit within the Metal Gear universe and Konami already has a universe for survival-horror stuff just makes it insulting. (Not that a co-op shooter Silent Hill wouldn't also be insulting, but considering the things that have happened to that franchise in the past decade, at least it would be expected.)

That they slapped Metal Gear on a zombie co-op shooter is one thing but how they connected it to Ground Zeroes that a 'wormhole' opened right after Skull Face blew up motherbase which sucked the survivors into..zombie co-op shooting land! It's just so..hilarious in a tragic way if you consider the dedication and care with which the original creator of this series made these games for 30 years.

I love that they put out MGSV unfinished and now they are trying to push this without even having the decency to finish the last game.

...What?

As someone who has zero investment in the series, I gotta say, this is bonkers. Just... why? This doesn't make any sense.

And I don't mean inuniverse sense - Metal Gear has always been completely bonkers, a bunch of disjointed ideas and narrative directions, cobbled together with spit, bale wire, and a fanbase willing to forgive more then most. I mean out of universe. It's a world where everyone's pissed at Konami, and complaints about bad business practices, mismanagement of IPs, and disrespect for the fanbase. And you do this, which is basically all of that in game form?

Why? Is drumming up sales with name recognition really worth it?

Just making sure, is this rhetorical question?

Now. to conclude this post: I will post completely random and unrelated series of game series.
Sacred.
Dungeon Keeper.
Alone in the Dark.
Warhammer 40K.

Cycles will never end.

No MGS without Kojima's insane combination of ineptitude and genius. What we have here is a zombie franchise featuring zombie enemies... a double-zombie, if you will.

Granted, Metal Gear Solid: Double Zombie would have been an awesome title... one I may have had to look into for the sheer sharknado nature of it, but this? eh...

Seems like it'll be the same exact kind of failure Umbrella Corps was... if the reviews prove me wrong I may check it out, but I'm sitting at 0% hype at the moment.

After the abortion that was the last game, and without the person who's been at the helm from day one with the IP, do they really see this ending well? Non-Hardcore fans will have been turned off by a game that was clearly rushed to release, and suffered heavily for it, and was then plundered by corporate pirates for extra profits.

And that was with Kojima!

Buy this, and you bloody well deserve it too.
