And yes, I'm completely at your mercy here. I will list my (perceived) pros/cons for each.

360
PROS:
-It'll help rationalize (finally) getting xbox gold.
-It'll sit (and feel oh so popular, heh) with my other 360 games.
-I've actually adapted to the 360 controller

CONS:
-Need gold for multiplayer online(???)

PS3
PROS:
-A SECOND actual PS3 title, which will make my recent PS3 purchase feel a lot less like a profound waste of money.
-Free online

CONS:
-I actually find the controller much too light for comfort and haven't used a PS-controller in ages

Also. This.

Ultimately it just comes down to whether or not you really care that Kratos is a special character in the PS3 version. Which I personally think is stupid, but eh.

Beyond that, flip a coin.

The PS3 controller is better for fighters, and since the new mortal combat is 2D and you'll be using the D pad, the PS3 controller would be your best bet.

Which system do you prefer? That one.
If you're a Kratos fan, then play God of War.

I'm not really a huge fan of Kratos ever since they butchered his character in the 2nd and 3rd games.

ALso, is the PS3 controller really that much better for fighters? I haven't played a fighter in a long time.

when I play fighters on console, I play with the d-pad and I've found both the xbox and ps2/3 controllers seriously lacking in good d-pads. Of the two, I'd say I prefer the ps3's controller for fighters to the 360's.

Depends on which one you're more used to. They can both work well, it just depends on how familiar you are with a particular controller and which you prefer.

I use both controllers fairly often, and the 360 d-pad is a massive pain, imho.

Looks like the PS3 is getting it.
