^Good extensive list is good and extensive. Pretty much covered most of what I was going to suggest as well (DCFC, Damien Rice, Bloc Party, etc).

A couple of other mellow artists I was thinking of were Passion Pit and Noah And The Whale. The former is just really good chill music, a little dance in it for parties. The latter is great for sitting back pondering the intricacies of life (read: broken relationships). Porcupine Tree is also a band I recommend to everyone, because their music spans so many different genres that they pretty much suit everyone.

I've been getting bored with the usual music I listen to lately, mostly classic rock. Can anyone suggest to me some good newish music to me? No rap/hip hop or country. Thanks.
You would be into this.

I think you'd like music like Gorrilaz and Weezer, older offspring stuff like gotta get away and that type of stuff.

Looking for mellow music? I was going to suggest Black Stone Cherry because you like classic rock, but they're not really mellow. Still, check them out at spome point if you haven't yet.

Wow, you're the first person I've ever seen who's heard of them!

EDIT: I almost forgot, get into ska music, listen to Streetlight Manifesto. Whoever you are this is always the best advice I can give.

Linkin Park? Kings Of Leon? Really?
OP: Breaking Benjamin, especially their latest album.
I can't read that with a straight face, I'm sorry. BB are awful, run of the mill rock band that stand out in no way.

I heartily recommend Nine Inch Nails, Hard-Fi, Jane's Addiction, and Celldweller

Nine Inch Nails are great. Although I think Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" was a better version... but thats just my opinion i guess. They're solid though.
