I couldn't make this up if I wanted: after watching this trailer, Road & Track, the magazine that helped EA create the original NFS back in 1994, issued a public apology for ever having had a connection to the series. Seriously. [http://www.roadandtrack.com/go/pop-culture/road-and-track-apologizes-for-need-for-speed]

Oh Aaron Paul...From Breaking Bad to a video game movie. And not just any video game movie - A Need for Speed movie. How the mighty have fallen.

Looks pretty cringe-worthy, I really don't like when people force drama and "romance" into a movie that never really warranted it.

Generic protagonist trailer speech alone tells me to stay away from it. I really hate those, and people keep doing them like it's something new.

Jesse Pinkman, I hope you find better work in the future.

"They took everything from me..."

Except of course my million pound racing car and Hollywood girlfriend.

If they wanted to make an adaptation of a game, why not do the Driver series? Those games have plots, as well as a main character. The only thing a Need for Speed movie gets is the name, nothing else. (Although it is a pretty good name for a movie about fast cars, I'll give it that.)

I lost interest in F&F after tokyo drift because it lost focus from the actual racing. I lost interest in NFS after carbon because it lost focus from the actual racing. I think we see a theme here

If this is trying to cash in on F&Fs success then i wont be happy. The latest fast films are only popular because everyone fancies dwayne johnson and vin diesel (especially straight white males) other than they are terrible films. I can think of a load of good car films that arent just about racing (gone in sixty seconds, drive and the transporter to name but a few) that are far superior to these movies and you actually care about the protagonist (especially transporter).

Fast was different because it was mostly about the underground racing scene (especially 2 which was my favourite) with a few cop chases, gangster and a bit of story but the latest iterations are all about story and little to no racing
