its not actually a stun as such, it just disables abilities (even ults) and turrets, with her ult taking out barriers too.
yeah, stun was probably the wrong word. i'm just wary of an ability that takes away one's ability to fight back--but if it doesn't disable the character's primary fire on their weapon, then it might not be so bad. mostly i'm just a bit leery o how it'll be to play against.

[quote"Windknight" post="9.944194.23825536"]this could be interesting Support wise, as I think Mercy and Ana's primary healing are weapon based, While Lucio's and Zenyatta's are abilities (Lucio's is a passive, but I think it counts). On the other hand, knocking out guardian angel and depending on how this affects her regen (or the regen buff doesn't materialise on the game servers), this could really make Mercy's life so much harder.[/quote]
wait, i play a ton of mercy.............

We need another disabler though, the "stack a bunch of ults and win" meta isn't the most fun. Sombra will be able to shut down those nano-boosted genji / reinhardts, or reapers, or whoever is steamrolling with a 'press q for teamwipe' style ult combo. I'm also looking forward to hacking a tracer and stopping her from blinking and recalling.

When her design was linked before, I thought it looked pretty lame, but I love all the glowy bits. Way more impressed than I expected.
mm, i can see that, yeah. kinda wish it didn't have to be that way since i'm really not a fan of being disabled/made helpless, but... it probably won't ruin my experience. hopefully.

Hey, if I have to cope with Junkrat "G'day cobber"ing all over the place and the Poms get Tracer being 120% British then it's only fair that Mexico shoulder their fair share of the burden.
Pfffft...

Well at least she doesn't sound Puerto Rican, I can't even tell you how many "Mexican" characters sound Puerto Rican, that being said she doesn't really sound like any specific Mexican region, just like vaguely Mexican which I guess is the same for most of the other characters, I mean let's face it most of them have terrible accents, the Mexican just annoys because that's what I am.

Pretty much everyone who can rely on the regular fire effectively
McCree
Reaper
Soldier: 76
Hanzo
Junkrat
Symmetra
Winston

You can cancel their abilities but they still have the regular fire and alt-fire. Except for his heals(Even then I think A smart soldier would place that down like before he got hacked) a soldier will barely even notice as he's filling her with lead. McCree loses the flash bang but is still extremely dangerous. Reaper can't get away easily but he can sure as hell below her face off if he's close enough, A good hanzo, Junkrat and Winston will be somewhat impaired but can still dish out damage (Winston can also easily find while she is When she is invisible.) Hilariously enough symmetra Seems like the hardest counter to her. The two abilities are worthless in a straight fight So it's pointless to hack her, it just doesn't seem worth it to hack one Her sentry as the other five are melting you. The only thing she has above symmetra Is that it's easy to find teleporters with the invisibility on but in a straight fight symmetra wins.

At least that's my predictions

Interesting that they put her in the offense category, she seems very defensive.
What about her do you find is more in line with defensive heroes? They mostly have a common theme of being able to control an area, whereas Sombra is not only good for flanking, she's also a defense cracker with hack and EMP. Then again, being able to hack a Rein shield can negate an attack rather quickly, so it could just be that she'll be solid in both roles.

Reaper.

He doesn't rely on abilities for his damage, he has a bit more health and her weapon is apparently only really effective at close range, similar to Tracer, so she has to get within his effective range to bother him which won't end well for her.

Mei.

Not so much a hard counter, but will make Sombra's life pretty miserable and force retreats.

Aside from being generally annoying, Sombra mostly strikes me as an anti-tank playmaker. That ult drops Rein's shield, destroys Winston's barrier and prevents Roadhog's heal. As a Zarya player it seems especially painful. It'll turn me from a hardy support brawler to a slow squishy with mediocre damage.

The AoE ult combined with invisibility ingress strikes me as a bit OP. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a nerf in the fairly near future.

It would depend on how much damage that SMG does. Symmetra is useless if you can't get close enough to actually attack with her, and knocking a hero out their defensive position and forcing them to retreat in an offense/defense game type is always a minor victory since you're gaining ground.

Also it would depend on what the Symmetra changes are going to be since we know that Symmetra's abilities are currently being heavily reworked.

Either way, it's nice to see a new Zarya counter. Can't charge your gun if your bubble shields aren't working.

Same. She seems like a fairly interesting character, but ye gods, Blizzard took that ridiculous sidecut thing and somehow made it look ever stupider.

In the concept art she had different hairstyles or a hood. I dearly wish they'd gone with one of those because christ, she looks like an edgelord clown.
That's what alternate skins are for. I doubt anyone is going to be using the default skins for long.

Woohoo, looks like Dva will be a viable tank again, especially with the new buff that's slated for her.

I guess? Sombra's bullshit will drop her defense matrix and booster, so she won't be any better off than Rein.

DVa has always been a bit of an odd character. She can't tank like the proper tanks, she can't kill like the proper killers, she doesn't have much utility. I've always considered her an off-tank, a kind of Fat Genji, similar to Winston.

I think it's the opposite, Sombra hacking is devastate to mei, she may still be problem in 1/1 but her main strength is stalling. I can't tell you how my times Fucking mei's have stall literally hours on end Thanks to her cryos Freeze or ice wall until the team came back and killed us or she gets her bizzard. Sombra's Hacking makes it almost impossible to be effective at that. And all I can say is that makes me really happy.

While we're on the subject of buffing D.Va, I feel Blizzard are going about it the wrong way.

They're buffing her health to make her more tanky, but her health isn't the problem; the problem is that her Defense Matrix is too weak.
It only lasts for 4 seconds, and takes 10 seconds to recharge when depleted. Compare this with Rein's shield, which has TWO THOUSAND HITPOINTS and takes only 8 seconds to recharge when low (not when destroyed though, there's another 3 second recharge penalty for that).

I can't count how many times I've been on D.Va and an enemy Pharah or Soldier has ulted, I go to block it but my matrix just doesn't have enough juice in it.
D.Va is supposed to counter Junkrat too (because matrix eats literally everything he puts out, even his trap and mine), but it's far too easy for a Rat to burn down her matrix (only 4 seconds) and then start trashing her mech.

The way I see it, it's not a health issue; D.Va doesn't need more health, she needs a Defense Matrix buff.

I don't really get why so many people are triggered by that hairdo. To me, it just looks like a raider from a Fallout game.
Unsurprisingly, Raiders from Fallout also look stupid. Really, from what I recall, hairstyles in general in Fallout were atrocious. Thankfully I didn't have to spend any time actually looking at the patchy rat's nest on my PC's head. (Well I guess you have to in F4, but I didn't play that one.)

It strikes me as the newest fashion trend that everyone will quietly drop and then regret in a few years time, as well as forever associate with the 2010s - like how movies use afros and disco as a shorthand for the 80s. And frankly I look forward to that. It's a style that has never looked good on anyone, in my opinion. Video game characters included.

Yeah, but I'm still going to have to look at it in all official material surrounding her. And since I'm more interested in the story around the game rather than the game itself, that matters more to me than what alternate skins she has.

I'm slightly irritated that almost all English people in foreign media speak with received pronunciation, despite there being loads [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BErF_KpU5fw] of [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sB3ieNhEsDY] different [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDmk9Q4C0_g] accents [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZY4TT3VtR8o].

The south of England, especially London, is all that matters in media. Its incredibly annoying to be constantly told by the media that you don't matter because you live in the north, but not north enough to be Scottish and matter again. I can only imagine how the Welsh feel, I doubt many people outside Britain would even recognise a Welsh accent.

OT:
I have mixed feelings about Sombra's look, on the one hand that is a very... unique... look, on the other she is clearly playing to a certain style and Overwatch goes over the top[footnote]in a good way[/footnote] with everything and its important she has a unique character look in game.

Starting to feel like I'm the only person on the planet who has a soft spot for that hairstyle. Granted, it tends to work better on an illustrated character than on a flesh-and-blood person, but don't they all?
You are not alone. I really like this hairstyle also. So refreshing.

Anyway, both animation shorts are solid, however I want to ask some question plot wise:

We so clearly Sombra get busted by some OTHER kind of organization unrelated with Overwatch and his recent "allies".
Specifically I am talking about the Organization with the Eye.
Also one member related with the Eye have a connection with Reinhardt.

I don't mind it in a post apocalyptic setting. Or even if you're a hardcore punk. But if you're sporting it and you're wearing a sundress or something other than punkish attire it looks horrible. Also you look like a massive *****/asshole to me if you have it.

To be honest, I just started to get interested with the plot of Overwatch, so I don't know much....
However if I want to make a guess....maybe the Eye is like a Illuminati/Big Brother Organization.
In other word a Big Secret Organization which have an "eye" in everything related with every single other organization? We can even see clearly the Eye is connected with all of them.

Nah. I believe maybe he is the father of Pharah and because he is not important they don't even bother to put a pic for him.
