Jupiter had input in TWEWY, but the game itself was made by the Kingdom Hearts team. Tactics Advance was outright made by Square-Enix (Tose hasn't done anything but port older FF titles as far as that series is concerned).10BIT said:Release? Yes. Make? No. Matrix [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matrix_Software] and Jupiter [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jupiter_(company)] made those games respectively. All the games I've enjoyed that were credited to Square Enix were developed by other companies, e.g. Level-5 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Level-5] made Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies, Neverland [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neverland_(company)] made Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals, Tri-Ace [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tri-Ace] made Radiata Stories, and Tose [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOSE] made the Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime games.FredTheUndead said:Then they'd release 4 Heroes of Light. *ba-dum-tish*
Which they did.
One would think. I suppose you're right. Thus, the only resort is to believe that, whatever the age of those demanding this shameful bit of pointless fanservice, their maturity is still that of a young fanboy. Because I'm sorry, but this is just plain stupid. It's a slap in the face of narrative and video games as an art form, something Square Enix especially shouldn't be doing.esperandote said:They can't be that young if they are fanboys of this game right?Thaius said:That's beyond stupid. They're really conceding to the stupid young fanboys in this way? What are people of this intelligence level even doing anticipating a game in such a classic, old franchise? Seriously, Square Enix? Respect lost.
Take that statement to its obvious logical conclusion, and you are telling me that none of us have any right to complain about any decision anyone makes. Sure, they can do whatever they want, but it will affect things, even outside of the game itself. And not well. We, gamers who demand more than adolescent pandering from this artform (and from one of the best storytellers in the industry, no less), should not stand for this, and we have every right to complain.Blitzwing said:Square Enix can do whatever the hell they want, it's their game.
There was only ONE shower scene in the series which was in PE2. It wasn't in the first game and it sure as hell wasn't in the novel that spawned the series.Syntax Error said:It's like God of War's sex minigame. It's series tradition.
The original novel (and subsequently the games) revolved around the idea of mitochondria evolving that led to some nasty stuff, like Dave Cronenberg body horror and people bursting into flames. Aya has advanced mitochondria that give her special abilities that allow her to fight the beasts resulting from this. In the sequel it was said her unique physiology has made her age slightly slower than other humans which of course SE is using as an excuse to objectify Aya.FredTheUndead said:A lot of 3rd Birthday's story sound HERP DERP tier anyway. What's this about having a virus or something so they could keep a youthful character design?
I never said this one thing will single-handedly "destroy and chance games have of being recognized as an artistic medium." But it's largely things like this in the industry as a whole that hold it back. And don't think we should not be outspoken about what video games should and shouldn't do. We gamers can have an influence on how the industry goes about things, but we will not do so out of some twisted idea that we should stay silent about it.Blitzwing said:If you don?t like the content of a game then don?t buy it and I really doubt that one shower scene will destroy any chance games have of being recognized as an artistic medium.Thaius said:Take that statement to its obvious logical conclusion, and you are telling me that none of us have any right to complain about any decision anyone makes.
