I'm not holding my breath for a European release so all I can hope for is a region-free release. The PS4, like the PS3, is region free for the most part but, hey, that didn't stop them with Persona 4 Arena the twats.
So yeah, us European people are probably looking at importing it.
I like the way it looks, especially with regards to the dungeons. The randomly generated corridors were easily the worst part of both P3 and 4. These looks a lot more interesting visually and gameplay wise.
Haha, wow. Some people were speculating that P5 may delay an extra year just to avoid having to compete with Square's new FF game, only for them to turn around and choose to launch in the same month. XD Still, my hype-o-meter couldn't get much more full for this one. been waiting patiently since '08 for the successor to P4.
Good to know the jp release date, I plan to import this if dual audio isn't in the US version and september is sooner than I expected. I am avoiding any and all spoilers so I didn't watch the trailer, or any trailer besides the very first, but I'm glad it seems to be shaping up nicely.

Looks interesting, but I wish some of the exposed bodies in it looked older than 15. It's un-nerving.
What's unnerving? You're acting like they're little kids or something, having grown up in a country where the age of consent was 15, hearing things spoken about 15 year olds that ought to refer to prepubescent kids is what's bizzare lol. Japan is closer to the majority of the world, unlike those who think 15 year olds are equal to 5 year olds with regards to sex, which are a minority of mostly third world hyper religious countries who believe that...and some states in America.
The female charactes, and in particular their bodies, look way too young IMO. That part of the trailer where they show the gal pulling her panties round her bum un-nerved me because she looks like a kid.
If you're young it may not seem out of range, but for a man in his 30's it seems wrong.
I wish all of these anime style films & games would feature more mature looking women.

Its anime ascetic, I've grown desensitized to it but yeah it doesn't paint a flattering picture of fans when viewed by someone who isn't used to it. Worth noting these are probably high school kids(side note, fat people don't exist in anime unless they are supposed to be ugly). Personally I've always felt persona would be better served by having the cast be college students given the amount of independence these high schoolers tend to show in the games(I dunno maybe its just a Japanese thing).
I love how flashy it is. The game is just oozing style. Gonna have to save up for a PS4 down the line. Only disappointed that they didn't reveal any male team members, makes it obvious who they are targeting with this when you factor in the fanservice shots. Hopefully introducing them would spoil some plot point but I doubt it.
Wasn't it leaked before that the game would come out in September? I seem to recall that month coming up for quite a while before the announcement.
Also, they will only announce the NA release date at E3, 'cus AtlusUSA. The best the EU is going to get is Hardin tweeting that "it's, uh, coming, sometime, yeah".
No, the "they don't have a european branch" excuse holds no water, for a myriad of reasons, AUSA just sucks as a company if you're not from 'murica or eat poutine.
I am somewhat curious as to the myriad of reasons why you hold Atlas USA responsible for the release dates of a region that they're not the publisher for. I mean, I could understand you holding the parent Atlas company responsible, since they're the ones signing the publishing deals, but the region-specific branch for a different region?

The independence thing is indeed a Japanese thing, in a lot of stories the chars live in basically what amouts to boarding school setting where they just interact with peers unsupervised. Also, college in Japan isn't as you expect it to be based on american college either, so the dynamiic would differ. Though all that asid the main reason it is thus is that the primary audience is teens in school so they're not gonna ever wander away from that. We have mainstay smt for older protags.
As for the age thing, I think a lot of westerers tend to take Japanese chars and even real people sometimes to be younger than they are percieved by Japanese people. It's just a cultural difference. I've heard professional cosplayers in their 30s being referred to as underage or jailbait too many times to take it seriously any more lol.
Oh and I'm getting this for ps3 as that is the base systen and ps4 ver is just a port, I don't think stuff like gralhics and framerates are what makes persona good.

See, here's the problem, AtlusUSA isn't responsible for NA, they are responsible for the entire western release of Atlus's games. They deal with distribution themselves in NA, and they are the ones who find publishing/distributing partners in the EU. Atlus Japan has absolutely nothing to do with anything going on in the west, never have.
That one continuous fuck up in Europe? All on AtlusUSA. Always has been. Not Atlus Japan, not Sega, not one of the dozen publishers they went through. It's been them since day 1. And they're not quick to correct people who don't have a clue when they defend them, on the flimsy basis that they 'have USA in their name, therefore they are only responsible for North-Amurica!'.
That is before we get to their bullshit excuse of "we don't have a branch there and it's haaaaard to publish in the EU!" and "we're a small company!" going for 5 years now, when companies smaller than them, that don't have branches can release day and day in NA and EU. Mind, NISA, the company that was their publishing partner in the EU for the past few years (before NISA threw AUSA out for being a terrible partner to work with), is the american branch of a japanese company without a european one that they contracted to release their games in Europe, and they could do it no problem. Hell, the only reason NISA wasn't able to do day and day for Atlus games, since they could do it for their own and most of their partners, is because AUSA always waited to see if they could a cheaper publishing deal from someone else.
Okay, that is fair then, it was not my understanding that Atlas USA was responsible for the publishing deals involving the other regions, hence my confusion. I live in Canada, and it's extremely common to see the Canadian branches of companies get screwed over in various ways by the decisions of the the primary US company, so it is somewhat natural to assume that the primary Atlus company was the one calling the shots on those decisions.
