New Pokemon?

Ok, so approximately half an hour or so ago, there was a news post about an image leaked of between 200-300 pokemon, claimed to be those being introduced by the new Pokemon Black and White versions. There were multiple reasons to doubt the validity of this claim, including the similarities they bear to other Pokemon. Personally I also thought the starters I saw seemed a bit off somehow.
Now however there is a reason to think that perhaps they were official. Anyone searching now will find that the news post has been removed. I can't help but wonder what reason there could be, other than pressure from Nintendo.

Did anyone else see this post? and if so, what was your impression of it?
Also, does anyone else see the removed post as proof of their legitimacy?

The image has been found and confirmed to be fake

Would you mind linking it so I can see these alleged pokemanz? If it's what I think you're talking about it's quite old and yes, it's a fake, but I obviously can't tell much from no links or pictures...

Removal of 'leaked' stuff isn't a sign of legitimacy. It could be Nintendo stopping people from muddying the waters for their release of the real stuff.

And no, didn't see it. Will likely be interesting though. I hope for good things and I doubt I'll be particularly disappointed.

Yeah you heard me. I quite like some of the Gen IV Pokémon. And Gen III, and Gen II, and Gen I.

Any 'leaked' pokemon are fake, it's a rule to live by. Plus they only add around 100-150 pokemon each generation.

Honchcrow is one of the best Dark pokmon there is. And I love all the Eeveelutions. And most of the stronger pokemon and starters are pretty cool.

Whoops I didn't see this thread and accidentally made a similar one if everyone could go ahead and ignore mine.

Anyway yea I saw it and I'm wondering what the deal was were they planning to post it later and accidentally put it up? I've never seen this on this site before so I'm just confused.

Unfortunately I left the news page before I realised it was no longer there. I wouldn't know how to find the actual image. All I know is they mentioned it potentially coming from 4chan (another strike against its validity) and I'll be damned if I'm gonna search through that mire to find it.

One of the flaws that was stated about it was that the grass type starter (assumedly) had a dual grass/dragon type listed from its first form. As was mentioned this would make it resistant to fire attacks and would kinda wreck the usual grass/fire/water thing they usually have.

Actually, a buddy of mine in The Asylum just posted a link to it. Sneaky guy, Portal Maniac. This is what he linked there [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/global/media/images/articles/article/7291/NewPokemon.png] and I can tell you for sure that I saw that a good few weeks back on 4Chan. It's a definite fake.

So...more pokemon. Great.

Hey, why not add zombie pokemon since they MUST be running out of ideas by now.

I want to see!

Okay, just had a look at them and they are fake. There is this pokemon, called Nosepass, which is a rock with a nose on it. Hahaha, so fake. Pokemon would never bring such a stupid design. Never...NEVER!

That's funny. Even if it was true, why would they only include 270 Pokemon? Doesn't really make sense to me. Some of those look decent, but a lot of them don't.

Ah thank you kindly.
You gotta admit though, there's a lot of effort there, and they do look good.
Even if the bug/grass type Stickit in the top right corner looks a lot like a Turtwig :p

It still begs the question though. If they're fake, why does it not qualify as news. They post stories about rumours and fan projects all the time. What made them take this one down?

Not a clue why they'd take it down, but whatever.

Yes, there's a good few quality pokeemaynz in there but the quality really slips on some of 'em. You can especially tell on the Regi's, for instance.

It's probably supposed to imply that that's the native Pokedex for the region, the Pokedex you have access to prior to the National Dex.

If this is what the OP was referring to, I believe the few Pokémon in there that are already real points to signs of its invalidity.
EDIT: Oops, my bad. Apparently that was to show the pre-evolutions and whatnot of preexisting Pokémon. Even so, I highly doubt that these are the real deal.

Nintendo does have a habit of protecting their IPs at all costs, even from pure fan-generated stuff. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, there was an article on this very site just a few weeks ago that was talking about Nintendo shutting down a fan made MMO.

In other words, I highly doubt that these are legitimate Pokémon.

In that case, it's still really hilarious. You can certainly tell the formula they went with, and the actual Pokemon that many were based off of.

I was wondering why that article vanished...

It's an obvious fake. The names are goofy, the designs aren't in line with the usual, and there are way too many new evolutions/ devolutions and Dragon- and Ghost-Types.

Well, there's supposed to be an actual reveal on Sunday...

Not to mention five Regi- pokémon in one game. That's just silly.
