Arrgghhhhh. It's English. Honestly I've no idea how anyone could ever ever mistake the two. (Not saying you're thick or anything, I just really don't get it). I mean, I don't mistake Australian and American. I can even tell when someone is Canadian.

I don't like "him". He has a normal voice and is all animated like an actual spherical person, made out of jelly instead of metal or plastic or whatever. They overdid him.

That won't be Wheatleys voice when the game comes out. It's just a Valve employee (Richard Lord) who has given Wheatley his voice only for this trailer. Valve says that they already have a real voice actor.

I didn't know that. It's not bad, i just think a synthesized-sounding voice would be more appropriate, and a little less facial expressions. I don't remember spheres in the original Portal having that.
