This gate thing needs to die in a fire, in the middle of a hurricane, during a planetary bombardment. Or maybe someone can just push it off a cliff or something. It really needs to go away.
Very well, henceforth every internet controversy will have the 'ghazi' suffix applied to it instead. The 'gate' suffix will be retired for the next few decades, only to return if there isn't a sufficiently big scandal during that time that can be turned into a new scandal related suffix. Or maybe we can go retro and do what everyone did before Watergate and call everything an 'affair' or a 'crisis'.Captain Marvelous said:This gate thing needs to die in a fire, in the middle of a hurricane, during a planetary bombardment. The first post no, but later clarifications on page 3 [http://us.battle.net/forums/en/overwatch/topic/20743015583?page=3] by Fipps:MarsAtlas said:Hell, the post didn't even mention the butt.
I think my argument is that a butt shot for tracer doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and undermines a lot of the great work the team is doing across the board.
Well, a pinup from WW2 pose seems to fit her wartime memes.Ezekiel said:Well, it still looks fucking dumb compared to the one on the left. But I guess dumb is fitting for such a character.
Some guy made a forum post [http://us.battle.net/forums/en/overwatch/topic/20743015583#1] in which he said that the pose didn't fit Tracer's character. A WHOLE BUNCH OF PEOPLE got their panties in a twist over it and started slagging him off for DARING to suggest it. 11 pages later a Blizzard employee commented [http://us.battle.net/forums/en/overwatch/topic/20743015583?page=11#210] that the pose would be removed, which lead to A WHOLE LOT MORE PEOPLE taking issue with that, as well. Blizzard had to clarify that they were sort of looking to replace the pose anyway. Which lead to A. WHOLE. LOT. MORE. people throwing a hissy fit over Blizzard's actions.Abyssal Dancer said:WAS there ever a real controversy? Did Blizzard ever say that they were changing this because of a single forum post? I think it's more likely that this is just what it looks like when the GG-SJW's are offended.Something Amyss said:Well, a pinup from WW2 pose seems to fit her wartime memes.Ezekiel said:Well, it still looks fucking dumb compared to the one on the left. I don't know, part of the problem is I have trouble caring in the first place. This whole "controversy" was mostly just funny, and as someone who wasn't going to play the game anyway I didn't really care if they had her trotting around a stripper pole.
Note the scare quotes around "controversy." "Nontroversy" might be better diction, but the quotes should indicate I don't believe it's a real controversy. However, I was referencing the response, not the original comment. The one that you attribute to people being offended. It looks like another case of manufactured outrage to me, and maybe one of the worst I've seen in gaming. I was actually a little surprised to find out this actually traced back to one person who was utterly polite.Abyssal Dancer said:WAS there ever a real controversy?
