Anyone like the look of the new Resident Evil the Darkside Chronicles? I think it will be better than Umbrella Chronicles, but that was good.

To be honest (I usually am) I have rather given up on RE, the last one just sucked so bad in my opinion.

Yeah, I'm looking forwards to it. Rail-Shooters games are all good to me, I love 'em. Although I do hope I get the opportunity to kill Steve Burnside.

I'm sick of resident evil games being released on the Wii to be honest. It's not because i'm a console fanboy or because I hate the series. Its because im sick of seeing remakes in the form of damn rail shooters. I have no problem with a great remake as long as enough time has passed, but the remake should improve everything about the game that it is being remade after. It shouldn't dumb down everything about it. I love the resident evil series and I always have, but no resident evil rail shooters has ever been decent imo. And quite frankly the Wii doesn't have the kind of hardware to support a graphic heavy game. And if they are going to remake RE:CV and RE2 I think it should be an amazing redefining experience, one with updated gameplay and graphics. I loved the Remakes on the Gamecube as a matter of fact I still play them, but this rail shooter business needs to stop.

My two cents

I really think it's about time they took old Resi out the back yard and put the ol' critter down.

Either that or see it steadily decline into bad health to the point where it just can't function anymore.

I'd still rather have capcom remaking RE1,2,3,CV with Re4/s gameplay but compensate it to make it more survival based
It wouldn't work really. I remember playing Twin Snakes which just didn't work because the layout was designed for the old controls, but with the MGS2 controls it was far too easy.

Code Veronica was the best evAr. Additionally, snake eater fixed all the problems that were in twin snakes, I think. There was one that wasn't ruined and was actually amazing.

You know there ARE remakes for the Wii that AREN'T rail shooters. Look up RE Archives.

You're telling me that you want to see the series go the way of Sonic?

In some way it is. RE5 was fucking terrible, in the case it didn't FEEL scary. It was a survival horror. The survivor part was there. The horror part was absent. It was like playing a shit horror movie.

From my understanding the Archives that are planned for release as of now are the original RE and RE0. So basically what they are doing is copy pasting from the gamecube disc to the new shiny Wii discs. If they release an Archives game that is oh say RE2 or RE3 with imporved graphics and gameplay, I will recant my statement.

I wish that RE6 would have "zombies". Like flesh munchers man! I don't want to be getting shot at by some guy with an ak-47 in a damn survival horror game. I want to run through tightly confined corridors with zombies popping out of every closet along the way, hoppin' for flesh! I want walking into the kitchen and seeing two zombies holding a human head and a cookbook, bewilderment across their faces.

I think it would be better if they tried making it mildly frightening again.

RE5 shattered any hope I had left of the franchise turning itself around.

Resident Evil died the day Outbreak was released.

Resident Evil has become like Mickey Rooney in the Wrestler.

It only knows how to do one things, to scare us, and now that it is not able to do that any more it will fade into a sad, ageing husk with no meaning to its existence.

Exactly, I don't know what Capcom were thinking.

I think saying that is a bit harsh. I think that in this generation, we'll see another numbered entry to the series that focuses more on "actual scares" horror rather than just macabre horror.

Time will only tell. For now, it's as dead as dirt.

If so, then this will be one occasion I will be happy to be proven wrong!
