I don't know weather to be impressed or laugh at this stupid idea. Probably a mixture of both. What are your thoughts on this new "sport"?

That's so weird. It amazes me that someone looked at something that has nothing to do with fighting and thought "That needs a few head kicks". Fair play to those people giving it a go though, don't know if I'd even be brave enough to jump out the plane.

So what happens if one of the guys gets knocked unconscious or something? Seems a bit risky.

This seems like something that would be better suited for a vertical wind tunnel, rather than an actual free fall.

Besides, do they even have time to do the mandatory weeks of back story, posturing and shouting at each other that comes with every few seconds of DBZ fighting?

The general consensus in the MMA community is that this is a joke.

So yeah, I wouldn't worry about it.

Nah man, that's most of the work. Job security.

Here was me thinking skydiving and full contact sparring were stupid and dangerous enough as is.

But of course humanity proves me wrong.

Fucking retards. What if someone is KO'd? Or someone rips their parachute equipment? Don't they just splatter on the ground then?

I hope they don't expect medical attention when they inevitably hurt themselves, emergency services have better things to do then rescuing idiots.

I'm sorry for the rant, "thrillseekers" just piss me off, is all.
Then they just find the dragonballs and ask the dragon to rez the guy, Duh!

OT: well at least if someone is knocked out, they can't see themselves die... That's something right?

There would still be the possibility that you break, or otherwise immobilise, your hand (very likely when fighting bare handed) and are thus unable to pull the cord on your parachute. Now that is a scary thing to imagine.
Remembering that this video is a joke, but they have gloves and helmets on and they aren't grounded which takes away a bunch of punching power. And this video is a joke.

I don't see the connection to DBZ other than the fact that they're fighting in the air which is an extremely loose connection at best. Anyway it looks rather ridiculous to me. Not to mention dangerous. I mean skydiving is dangerous anyway, but trying to beat each other up on the way down seems to add unnecessary extra risk to it.

I guess I'll just consider the splatter-deaths resulting from someone being knocked-out whilst falling out to be a fatality then.

Ah that actually makes me glad, though I also feel kinda stupid for falling for it

I guess we can /thread then?
I don't know about that, I found out about from a youtube add, which means somebody paid to put it up. It doesn't seem like a publicity/marketing stunt stunt either. Seems like a lot of money to spend for a hoax(if you include equipment). Joke or not I'm too baffled to care.

More than DBZ, this reminds me of me of Moonraker:

DUDE, it would be so much better if they had to fight for a single parachute!

Just my lame attempt at a joke, I apologize.

There are a couple of giveaways like calling Faber an "MMA world champion" and that guy saying he's a caged animal on the loose (which is a play on a pretty common saying in MMA). It wouldn't be that expensive to film some guys slapping each other around while skydiving, especially if they already had access to the facility/equipment.

Plus, like I said before, it's extremly unlikely anybody would get knocked out because they aren't grounded enough to generate any real power PLUS they have helmets on.

What are you apologizing for? There's no need to.

This is just stupid, it's so dangerous and really brings the whole world of martial arts into disrepute.

In fact, I haven't seen such a blatant display of martial arts stupidity, dangerounsness and total disregard for fighter's safety since Nick Prindell, the ex-Marine and disabled Iraq Vet turned MMA fighter who was allowed to compete with prosthetic hands:

Uh, I'm not so sure it is a joke...

They have their own website, they are petitioning the NSW government in Australia to un-ban this stupid thing.

Everything I have seen so far make me think it is real.........which is really god damn depressing.

It's definitely a joke.

The website claims there have been events since 2013 but their social media pages only have posts as early as may this year. Any searches of the term "full contact skydiving" or it's creator come up as news articles about it from the last week AND there is no mention of the "ban" in Australia.

Plus, c'mon. Look at the website. Skyjitsu? Skuay Thai? Japanese dudes fighting in wingsuits? How can you take this seriously?

Holy fuck, dude. I didn't realise it was possible for people to bleed like that in real life. I guess it isn't surprising considering he's basically wearing metal gauntlets.
