Can you say, "Holy reacting-to-BvS-backlash, Batman!"

Seriously though, the music, the comedic scenes they included, even the parts with Batman, this entire trailer screams "This isn't all grimdark (read: Bvs) guys, we swear!"

I enjoyed it though. A few things I didn't like, such as uncomfortably sexy Harley (never stick your dick in crazy) and a "Will Smith character" performance for Will Smith's Deadshot.

But the action seems solid, it's building a bigger universe, and I am warming up to Leto's Joker.

Isn't Harley supposed to have a Brooklyn accent? Also why is everyone dressed funny? Also are those opening lines meant to imply Jokey could stop Superman, because I'm pretty sure Joker couldn't do diddly squat to Superman.

Guess I just don't get it.

Also Harley looks kinda like the Queen of Hearts from that mediocre Tim Burton movie in the still picture.

Strangely, it wont play for me. I was able to watch several other videos on youtube, however.

I guess it's new, and youtube is having a rapid hit induced stroke?

EDIT: Ok, it went through.

So... just some random thoughts.

1. The very beginning of the trailer links this movie to Superman. Bad idea. Also, the implication that Suicide Squad is the governments answer to Superman is retarded.
2. The trailer makes it pretty clear this may be the beginning of ARGUS/Cadmus. If it weren't for WB/DC fucking everything they can up, I'd be excited.
3. It's still not clear if the Joker is a flashback character only, or if he's showing up in the movie time frame. I think this could become problematic with the Batman their aiming for.
4. They are really hammering the Batman button, now that it's clear he was the only part of BvS anyone can agree was good.
5. Still not a damn thing in the trailer that has convinced me to give WB/DC another penny.

I hate to be the massive cynic, but that bored me. I didn't smile once and I still have no urge to see this in theaters. The DCU so far has just been one boring ass movie I actually managed to sit through(Man of Steel) and two movies I can't be assed to see. Not off to a good start for Elfy.

But hey, that's just me.

I'm hyped for the movie but even I can tell they're overacting their quirkiness with these trailers.

I did not care about this movie.

This trailer has not made me care about this movie.

These are my thoughts.

In a world where both Superman and Batman kill, I'm not sure a different accent si going to be a big problem.

Seriously, though, there are alternate character interpretations all the time, which isn't so much a problem.

Then clearly, you are the problem.

No, but seriously, this trailer's kind of...okay. The pros are that it's not as joyless as Batman v Superman and not as puerile as Guardians. And Ballroom Blitz works as a song.

The cons are...kinda everything else. It's not that it looks bad, it just doesn't look like something I'd spend two hours in a theater watching. and maybe it'll surprise me.

It looks too cut up for me to get a clear picture -- Every scene in the trailer is like 2 seconds long. It looks hacked up to make it look more whimsical than it actually is.

And yeah, starting your trailer off with 'Superman could be a national threat' is not a good opener. And having it be the reason to ensemble a group of moderately powerful villains is downright stupid.

With all that said, it does do a nice job of getting you in the spirit for a wacky action romp. Whether that turns out to be valid remains to be seen.

I'm willing to bet that 75-80% of those jokes were filmed in the past couple of weeks, that being said, it doesn't look like the hot mess that I thought was possible. They seemed to have brought a decent level of levity to to movie, but we'll have to see how it actually meshes with the rest of it. I hold out hope that it will be a good film even if the trailer still seems to be copying Guardians of the Galaxy a bit too much.

There are a couple of things I'm unsure of (Really? That's our Joker?), but the only thing that is blatantly pissing me off if the oversexualization of the women, and specifically Harley Quinn. Can anyone explain to me the point of her getting changed in public while dozens of men stand around to ogle her? Beyond selling tickets to the pre-teen crowd? Hell, even compare Amanda Waller to her comic book counterpart and it's like a Susan Boyle biopic starring Jennifer Lawrence.

But hope springs eternal, and my hope is that this is the movie to turn things around for the DCEU. Otherwise there is going to be A LOT riding on Wonder Woman's slender shoulders.

This whole thing fills me with profound feelings of "meh". I haven't been excited for this from day one, and nothing I have seen since leads me to believe it will be anything other than painfully average.

On the bright side, painfully average would be a step in the right direction!

Eeeh it look ok? I didn't exactly laugh nor chuckle at the trailer at all.

I was going to be please when Deadshot wasn't wearing that goofy white mask of his from the promo photo until the last half of the trailer...

I think it looks alright.

Enough so that I'll watch it when the opportunity presents itself.

I reserve the right to be completely wrong about that though.

Nope sorry. This is the internet. You are now branded for life as a supporter of this movie and a DC fanboy. You make me sick. *ptooey*

I'm iffy about the Superman reference. Ideally a shared universe should be able to stand on its own for each installment that doesn't share the same title - part of the reason why I'm iffy about the MCU. That aside, trailer looks fun. And I'm a bit reluctant to criticize the MCU nowadays considering the DCEU has given me one okay film (Man of Steel) and one bad one (Batman v Superman).

In so much as I enjoyed that trailer, though the one with Bohemian Rhapsody was just a bit punchier, I don't see how any of the people on that iteration of the Suicide Squad would stop a Superman who had zero fucks to give.

Well it is just a trailer so the film could still be good... but I can't say any of the humour in this really worked for me.
As a minor nitpick am I the only one who really isn't feeling Margot Robbie(?) as Harley? I don't mind the fact she doesn't have a Boston accent but from the admittedly little we saw she didn't really come off as, well, quirky/chipper enough to be Harley. And while I think it's supposed to be closer to how she looks in the comics is it bad I really don't like her costume in this?
Second nitpick: Can somebody tell WB that using certain songs doesn't necessarily make a film look "funny". Neither this nor using Bohemian Rhapsody will distract me from what's in the movie.

On a positive note I thought "Assault on Arkham" was ok so if this is basically a live action version of that then it should be a step up.

... Because it's a superhero movie?

That said though, Superman is literally the closest thing to a god anyone could encounter.

He would also be the biggest news worldwide. Everyone's bound to have an opinion of him.

But in the context of the Suicide Squad, I don't see why he needs to be mentioned in the briefing room. They're not a team designed to take down Superman. They'd barely register as a speed bump.
