But for fuck sake's, just enough with Handsome Jack. Everytime you stick him into something, you make the IP less about what's next and more about "So, what's that wacky Handsome Jack going to do today?!"

He's becoming the Steve freaking Urkel of video games...
Wow, I was just thinking that same thing the other day. I'm just waiting for poor Dr. Zed to go up the stairs and never come back down...

OT: I loved Borderlands 2 and I love Telltale games. But I'm gonna wait and see on this one. I've played so much Borderlands 2 that I'm kind of tired of it. I'll probably grab it on sale but no way I'm pre-ordering it like I did with Wolf Among Us.

I'll wait until it comes out- I'm hesitant about both Telltale and Borderlands after Walking Dead Season 2/Pre Sequel.

Oh, and Troy Baker's in it. I heard they were getting Sam Witwer for the role Baker's playing- I'd have paid for that.

The most important litmus test. I laughed during the trailer. Interest heightened.

Handsome Jack is Borderlands' Doctor Wiley. He was behind everything that occurred in the series, starting from BL1. He was the main antagonist of the series, and continues to be even after his death.

There's nothing particularly odd about such a character being a key component of every game. Besides, if you really want to get into it, the original four Vault Hunters have been in more games than Jack has.

Ehhh. It looks like it might be decent, but here's the thing: I play Borderlands to shoot things, and loot anything not nailed down. While the story is fun in places, it's basically there as a framework for grabbing all the guns you can carry and slapping the shit out of whatever you're looking at. Never played any of the Telltale games, though, so who knows.

While I'm not sold on it, it has peaked my interest so I'll keep an eye on it.

The difference is Doctor Wiley never took center stage. It was always about what Mega Man is going to do next and what else will the character be upgraded with. If you took out Doctor Wiley and another mad doctor made robots, it still could work.

Handsome Jack IS NOW written to be the major x,y, and z, because of the new importance shone on him with the Pre-Sequel. In Borderlands 1 when I first played it years ago, not so much.

Pretty much there to provide a bit of context and the odd laugh. It's designed to be a multi-player game, so there's only so much time players are going to want to deal with the same cut-scenes over and over again.

For my tastes, the first Borderlands was just too light on story. It rarely rose above standard MMO fare with this person telling me to go here and do that. Until the DLC, there wasn't any real sense of character or story, just missions. Borderlands 2 is like that comic book you read a thousand times. Sure, there's not a whole lot there, but it's light and breezy with just enough to hand the action on.
