New TF2 Changes, Hint on Engi Weapon

I've been hearing lately about the new changes on TF2 on a server I was playing on and checked it out. The "TF2 for Mac" now has its own web page: http://www.teamfortress.com/macupdate/ .
On the video, the Engineer was shown holding a gun that we've never seen before, obviously hinting the new Engineer weapons and gadgets.

TLDR: TF2 is now on the Mac and the Engineer has an engraved(and scoped, by the looks of it) shotgun.

Anyone pissed at the new layout?

I, personally, am mucho, mucho excited. There's been a lack of hints about the engie update for too long now. Besides, a nice opportunity to settle the mac vs. pc argument online in good fun sounds like a grand old time.

The new shotgun looks like its from Borderlands. I think the Mac players are going to lose.

The trailer was awesome. I've been dying for the engie update simply because I want to play the engineer...but not in the state its in right now.

As for the new layout...it sucks. I loved the layout before because it was almost identical to other Valve games which made it easy to navigate. Oh well, it'll just take some getting used to.

a scoped shotgun? that's interesting, shotguns are typically short range weapons in video games (I'm aware hunters use scopes on their shotguns on occasion, but that's not how shotguns work in video games)

I'm interested to see what allows it to compensate for the lack of range.

I like the new layout. It's very streamlined, unlike the last layout, which felt very antiquated and kind of bland. Especially since they BS'd their way through the Blog Post sidebar in the first layout, and it never really looked good. Now it looks brought together, and much better in general.

My geuss would possibly be some sort of shotgun that has a much tighter spread, also, considering that often an engie's job can often mean hunkering down at the base, it could be some sort of weapon that allows engie's to preform long range harrasment and killing, like the sniper, in exchange it could be very poor at closr range combat.

Menu looks like ass. Offline mode is very broken and misses the point. Naff.

What I'm hoping for is that the scope lets you zoom in and see either through spy disguises OR spy's that are using their watches become visible to you (for a limited time then it has to recharge).

What would be the negatives? Slower walking speed whilst zoomed and you are zoomed in and don't have a full field of view.

Spies are not much of a threat if you know what you're doing. I want it to spread shot and break Demoman stickies. Like the regular shotgun. But better.

I can't wait to use it either. Whatever it does, its awesome. Is it just me or is Valve getting better at making movies and comics?

It's good to see them finally doing stuff to TF2 again. The War Update was so long ago.

haven't played tf2 for ages but might give it another go soon. the problem is i fail pretty hard at it

I guess that's what the training mode is for.
