New Thief Game!

Nowadays, reboot sounds very cheap and the word itself is obsolete.

Instead of calling it "Thief (without any number)", I'd have made a proper sequel quite faithful to the original masterpieces (with some adjustments to today's stupid publisher demands) and released other Thief classics as HD or such.

Thief 4 and Thief 1/2/3 HD or full remakes. Much better.

P.S. Eidos, get rid of that 3rd person takedown scene! You want DX: Human revolution plague on Thief? Not fine!

Being a prequel, it's a Young Garrett. Spontaneous, wild, reckless and with the regeneration aspect of Wolverine.
Basically, it's a Thief game only in the game.

I don't think it's a prequel.

I'm pretty sure he's missing the eye. Also the fact that the world is apparently different - not as supernatural and, if memory serves, the Hammerites aren't in it, too.

No Hammerites, no pagans, they've apparently toned down the supernatural and steampunk elements to minimal for a more 'realistic' setting. Garrett no longer has the same voice actor, looks different, and acts differently. There will be quick time events, and what's more it's recently been revealed there's not even a jump key, everything is context sensitive ala Mass Effect 3 style gameplay.

Frankly at this point unless the developers have been hiding something big, it's Thief in name only.

The gameplay released so far looked...downright awful.

Can't jump to conclusions but so far I am completely unimpressed. Will see how it goes over the year.

And didn't say they're going to take inspiration from Dishonored? Isn't that just saying they're taking inspiration from...Thief?

I haven't played Dishonored. Is it worth playing?
