So I hear that the Creative Ensemble started working on a new game right after they released Shogun II. What Total War would you like them to do next?

I thought that they are going to make a scifi monster/alien fps...
I remembered reading that their studio was commissioned for such a game to counter 'dead space'.

Something to do with ancient China.

Could get quite a bit of factions if they stretch it enough. You got the various Chinese kindgoms, the Mongols, the Vietnamese, the Koreans, and could probably get Japan in there.

Would be great I think.

Or perhaps another game like Spartan: Total War. I'd like to see another one of those.

Either Rome 2 or Ancient Greece. Greek city states warring with each other and Persians thrown in would make my day.

I would like to see a more modern day Total War game. It would be nice to see a medieval III Total War as well.

Those 2 would be great!
I would love a "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" Total war game.

Rome 2 would also be nice. :)

you know, its a little silly, but Zombie: total war would be a hilarious mod. Line all your troops up, shoot and poke, but once the zombies break through your forces break and flee and the zombies eat the children.

OT: Usually they at least spend the first 6 months fixing bugs and working on the expansion packs. However, I'm awaiting rome 2 with bated breath. It breaks with the series, but I also wouldn't mind a high-fantasy version.

Argh! Ninja'd!
The problem is that Three Kingdoms would have the same problem as Shogun, which is that one of the most awesome parts of the setting would be essentially taken out; the individual officers.

That was my main criticism against Shogun, that Nobunaga Oda (or Ujiyasu Hojo or Kenshin Uesugi or Shengen Takeda) is NOT equivalent to, say, Harumune Date. There's just about nothing in the game to show the distinction between all these awesome people :(

I would love to see the Total War mechanics applied to Three Kingdoms, but I would hate to see Cao Cao or Guan Yu show up with the same stats as Luo Biao or Zhang Lu.

I believe the rumour was something along the lines of a licensed Alien game

OT: I'd kinda like to see Egpyt, but that has its limitations. Perhaps a little bit on from Empire, maybe early industrial age?

If they did do that they would have to re-write their formula a lot. The Total War games seem to favor fights with companies of soldiers being the standard unit than using small squads. It would be interesting to see how they manage it.

Rome 2 would be cool. Though it would be amazing if they made Total War: Ultimate and let us lead a country from the Roman Era to the Napoleonic era.

You mean a larger version of Napoleon? After Rome II I would love to see a version set in that time with pretty much the whole world.

This is a good idea but you need to understand that it can't be done.
I remember I saw once an attempt to mod EU3 and Victoria 2 and make it into one game with two parts, but you can't combine these two eras becaue they have different rules of conduct and warfare.
In Rome you conquered.
In medieval times you united your land with your barons and sucked it up to the pope, all together making royal marriages and trying to get more land and rights to thrones.
In Imperial times you colonized and crushed the locals or sold drugs.
In modern.... you did anything you could as long as you could get away with it.

I'd like a space-based Total War. Barring that, I'd like a Fantasy Total War.

Barring THAT, I'd like a futuristic Total War, set 50-100 years into the future. Take the current geopolitical situation, set the conflicts off with resource shortages (fossil fuels, water, food, etc.) and base the army/unit progression on the current trends in experimental weaponry.

If none of those are game, I'd go for Medieval 3 or Rome 2.
