It's probably gonna be fun. From what we've seen so far they really do seem to want to bring the Pok?mon world to life. Still a weird plot to base a first movie on, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt.

I still can't tell if this is meant to be good or just some elaborate prank on Pokemon fans. I mean if Ryan Reynolds just wants to be Freakazoid, just reboot Freakazoid and cast him. All this tapping around the edges is just...undignified.
