I want to know more about that spotted pig... Potential scene-stealer in the making?

Other than that, I'm fucking sold! (Also, I hope the whole tattoo bit is semi-reoccurring...)

I'm stoked for this. It's still amazing people sailed across the entire ocean using stone age technology.

Stopped watching when I saw it was CG, which I fully expected. It's all Hollywood can do now and it got old for me a while ago.
That makes it sound like you think CG is some kind of gimmick, rather than just a different style of animation. That's like saying "Eh, no thanks, it's a drawing in pencil! I've seen plenty of those!"

As long as they don't ham it up. Otherwise, no-one will save the writers' bacon. Though I'm sure a portion of the audience will want to pork the female lead regardless.

ANOTHER Hollywood remake, and not a very faithful one at that!

First Ghostbusters, now Robert Flaherty's groundbreaking silent docufiction! Shame on you Disney!

What's Moana remaking exactly?

Looks like a hard sell. Don't know why; maybe it's the pacific setting not really breathing that typical warm and fuzzy Disney vibe, maybe it's because it's centered around a culture most audiences won't particularly give too many shits about... Or maybe it's because it reminds me of Lilo and Stitch.

I'm also guessing we're in for the usual 'young, free-thinking girl wants to break from tradition that's holding back her free-thinking ways'.
I certainly hope not.

"Believe in yourself."
"Stay true to yourself."
"You are unique, don't let society destroy your uniqueness."

To me, these are essentially the white noise of story morals. So completely bland and over used that their presence barely registers anymore.

And if the movie doesn't feature the goddess, Kapo, and her magical flying vagina, the film will not be worth seeing for me.
Fucking Christ, I thought you were joking until I Googled it.

Looks like fun to me. Dwayne Johnson when he is not taking himself too seriously is generally a riot. I like what I see of the art design and tone. I love that absolutely no nuts and bolts of the plot were spoiled. Too many trailers do that.

I don't really know anything of Polynesian mythos so I'll be in the dark about Maui. I know little to nothing of the culture so I won't be picking apart shit that is off as i am watching it. Disney has been pretty spot on lately. Brave was a little dull but was at least visually interesting. Big Hero 6 was fantastic. Frozen, was not as shit hot as everyone says but still enjoyable. Tangled was awesome. With a recent track record like this, it's hard for me to shit on them too much.

Well, if anything, this trailer opened the floodgates for Moana fan art. When you're main characters are appropriately-dressed island people with the Disney look, it was pretty much a fan-art storm waiting to happen. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be perusing the internet for awhile.

Well, I was joking in that I demand that be in the movie for it to be good, but . . . yeah, that's a real thing. Stuff like that is actually quite common in non-European folklore.

It was more of a joke. There's a silent film called Moana made by documentary pioneer Roberty Flaherty that's also about living in the South seas. I'm curious if it's an inspiration.

The demigod's bit is a tad cringe, but it looks pretty and Disney have been doing really well with their films this decade as far as I'm concerned so I'll keep my eye on it.
