I wouldn't believe it.

There have been times before when a "leak" turned out to be nothing more than a load of bullshit, like when that one VALVe dev's resume was "leaked" and it had the status of Episode Three. Turned out to have been a hoax, AND it was first reported on the Steam Users' Forum.

Sorry, but I wouldn't bank on this.

For shit's sake, I'm not bothered about their lack of releases, but they've been using the source engine (which is a modification of the gold engine, which in turn is a modified Unreal engine if I'm not mistaken) for too long. I'd rather they had a major sort out of the engine, cause it's old as shit and doesn't have anything of the engines on most games today.

Stop making games, make a new engine.

Source is still the best FPS engine there is, by a considerable margin.

I don't really see the point in this, isn't it just going to basically be akin to a heavily modded version of CSS?

Was skeptical when I read the rumors of this, but it's now been confirmed and has a steam store page.

Also coming out on xbox/ps3, will it hold up against Call of Duty for those players?

Valve offically confirmed it for PC, along with PS3 and 360 versions. In before "VALVE SOLD OUT TO CONSOLE GAMERS" rage. Supposed to come out next year, but I doubt it.
