Meh. I save before every fight in Fallout 3 and Oblivion. New Vegas won't be an issue.
I saved pretty much every 5 minutes on my PS3s Fallout 3. So I will be used to this ^^
Pfft. I saved every minute on my 360. Then again, the saving process is quicker on 360. No PS3 menu. Just in the Fallout menus.

Lemme add you on PSN...I thought you to be a PC gamer.

Bethesta and Obsidian are the worst developers in history, they leave their games to be finished by moding communities for god sakes.

They make good games but they're often bugging out badly.

Hell Fallout had a bug that was reported to bethesta, what did they do? "Play the game in windowed mode"
LOL I thought you said worst but you obviously mean best. Hahahaha good joke.

In all honesty though I've never played anything by Obsidian so I won't judge them. Fallout 3 and Oblivion are my two favorite games though. They are both critically acclaimed so I doubt Bethesda is the worst developer ever.
It's half a joke and half not, while their games are often fun and what not, their games are incredibly buggy, often unfinished and the modding community is usually left to fix what they wouldn't. Bethesta anyway, I hear Obsidian is roughly the same.

But regardless, they never put out patches they just pump out expansion packs and never fix what's broke.

So while I think Fallout 3 is a good game, I also hate fighting with their inability to fix what's broken, it leaves me unwilling to finish it. I play games to unwind not scream fuck as it crashes and I gotta replay half a dungeon. Ah yeah must have been their other patch "save often" along with their "windowed mode"
...what? Both Bethesda and Obsidian are always putting out patches.
That must be why Fallout 3 after all this time still crashes for me regularly, silly me.
And doesn't crash for me at all, silly me.

The reviews that are coming in are, for the most part, saying that the game in itself is great, but marred by a series of technical issues. I suppose we'll have to wait for patches for it to become a great game. Or, perhaps even better, an unofficial patch mod (for PC users).
Yeah I'm just gonna wait till thats over, although I never had an oblivion crash...ever.

Same here. Well, the only times it crashed were when I was new to modding it and kept installing mods that conflicted with each other.

Were these bugs mainly just on PC? I played on 360 and the game only crashed a few times.
I play PC and my friend plays 360, they both freeze up a lot, on his 360 and mine. The game is bug-tastic.

And so did everyone else who knows Obsidian's/Bethesda's track record.

I've been saying this would happen ever since the game was announced.

Honestly, all I can say is "know shit?"

Its an Obsidian game on a Bethesda engine, what else did you expect? A stable game? HAH!

This is why I'm waiting a few months before buying. The community will have fixed the bugs, and have a pretty sizable mod-pool for it.
New Vegas has been fine to me.
Eh, it vary's from person to person. Glad its working for you. I wish everyone was that lucky...
So if the game doesn't like you...it Glitches?

Skynet is already taking over if they can like or dislike people XD

OT: I'll be getting this for 360...so i don't have to worry about the game running or anything...unless my Xbox has a stroke.

This is why I leave autosave on and when I encounter a scare I'll save the game right then and there. Other than that I've spent 5 hours on it and can't wait to get out of class, back home, and get to keep playing it.

Wasn't half the stuff they touted "Hey its Fallout 3 but with less glitches and better gameplay" ? Ouch guys. Ouch.

I'm really not impressed that they'd make a sequel without fixing any significant number of bugs. I might even consider it one of their first tasks: "Make sure the game doesnt have any bugs before we start changing stuff"

it's more fallout 3, aka a garbage game. it's got a better story and some tweaks but over all it's the same pile of rubbish F3 was so the bugs are low on my list of things to hate on
care to qualify that hatred or are you just getting your daily trolling out of the way.
which part? The bad gunplay coming back from F3 (though I seem to be hitting what I point at most of the time now)? The VATS system that's so horribly broken they had to make you invincible while using it (you know, instead of actually balancing it) also coming back from fallout 3. The giant giant giant EMPTY world coming back from Oblivion (or maybe it just felt giant because it was so damn empty) the horrible souless NPCs coming back from oblvion. The busted ass AI coming back from oblivion (slightly improved though but not much, yeah like Bethesda would give them any substantial leeway with the engine) The sizable amount of still useless skills. The fucking unkillable NPCs back again from Oblivion making any sort of tension impossible when you can leave them in path of a nuke and come back later when they've woken up from their nap. Obsidien to their credit gave it a better story (infinitely better than fallout 3's but still largely bland) some better characters and some humor, but it's still a pile of garbage gameplay wise.
If they bring anything back from Fallout 3...it's because it was something like game of the year?

They are bound to keep things in from Fallout 3. You know...like every sequel does? It's empty because it's a desert, you know...big open sand? What you want? a swimming pool? A pub? Some Skills are useless to you...but not to everyone else who uses them.

If it's anything like Fallout 3, many people are going to like it. it can't be THAT bad.

My personal antichrist, one day I will have my revenge for KotoR II!
I thought that was LucasArts' fault buy pushing the release date forward by a year, or something equally as stupid.

IN THIS THREAD:
Dudes with crappy systems, whining about fallout and oblivion bugs and crashes although they are probably driving their pc's close to exploding from overheat.
ITT: People who may not be playing on a PC.
Even if they're playing on PCs, there doesn't seem to be any correlation between systems and crash rates. I have two friends who have the exact same PC setup (100% same, because they built it at the same time and got better prices that way) and have vastly different crash rates with Bethesda games. I had some pretty bad crash rates with Fallout 3 and my PC outclassed theirs.

It just seems like Bethesda games has a personality of their own. The game just likes to f*ck with players from time to time.

I love it. Got my Collectors edition and loaded it up. Was amazed. I love the setting already. Sure it has some bugs but they'll be patched. Modders will fix this game up and when they do it will be a true masterpiece.

I didn't have issues with crashing fallout 3 so long as I didn't use GFWL. Since NV doesn't use it, I am not too worried about major crashing. I've only played about an hour or so and haven't had any issues beyond having a bit of a problem getting my mouse sensitivity just right.
