I'm getting it on 360, do whatever you like with yours.
Thanks for the help asshole.
Like I said, can you play Oblivion or Fallout 3 smoothly?

If so, New Vegas is go. Same engine, same underlying tech.

If not, go with the sure thing & pick up the console port. Nothing wrong with picking the sure thing. The 360 can't be that much worse than the PC version. Can it?

Me:
Steam (derp)
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel Core Duo 2.66 ghz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series (256 mb dedicated)
4BG memory
lol same specs as the second computer I built... like a year and a half ago I think... maybe just a year ago I don't remember...
anyway spare parts FTW...

OT: I dunno I would go for PC usually but they completely screwed up the HUD, inventory and menu systems in Fallout 3 on PC...

It's no contest. PC.. Granted that you can run it.

The customization enhances Fallout by about ten fold. I was really into the mods for Fallout 3, even After I played the original. I really liked some of the 'realism' mods, or rather, the 'survival' mods. Where it tried to make survival more of an immersion effect.

Vegas is supposedly adding that into the original game, as an optional "hardcore" difficulty setting. I'm all for it, and I can't wait to see what the talent behind the modding community does for it. Obsidian was inspired by the tremendous survival mod community after all. Kudos to them for that.

Oh, and anti-aliasing.

I have spoken.

Before everyone starts screaming PC please take a quick read. I can't decide between getting the 360 version and the PC version mainly because I'm unsure how well my Laptop will run the game. I can hook a controller and hdmi cable to my computer so it would be basically the same experience plus I can mod but the 360 option guarantees a nice presentation. I don't do a lot of PC gaming so hopefully some hardware buff might be able to give me an idea of what I can expect.

Fallout New Vegas Recommended System Requirements:
Steamworks digital platform (Games for Windows is the certification)
Operating System: XP, Vista, Windows 7
Processor: Dual Core 2Ghz (enhanced for multi-core)
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 6 Series or similar (ATI 1300 minimum)
Memory: 2GB
Hard Disc Space: 10GB

Me:
Steam (derp)
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel Core Duo 2.66 ghz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series (256 mb dedicated)
4BG memory

SO basically I meet the requirements but I don't really trust my GPU, etc. I know this is ignorant especially for a computer engineer but I don't want to drop $50 and have it run like poo on low settings. Cheers and thanks in advance :)

EDIT: Heh just found a "Can I Run It" it said "You have a weak spot but your rig may be able to run it" lol...
With that video card I'd say you might be able to run it on medium,if I where in your postion I would go with the more stable and still descent looking 360 version instead of that laptop.

Go PC.

It should play fine.

PC version looks fine.

I see what you're saying about the GPU, but New Vegas's specs are so low. And the GfW certificate on the top of the box doesn't matter; it's Games for Windows Live that you want to be worried about.
I was under the impression that it was using Steam and that the Games for Windows label is to combat Macintosh. I haven't seen a single game today that hasn't said Games for Windows on it in regards to the PC.

Hell, even my copy of Risen has it on the box and it doesn't require Games for Windows Live.

EDIT: I decided to look up Fallout 3 to see if it has anything specific on its Games for Windows label. And it does, it states Games for Windows Live on it, if it says that, then yeah you're pretty much stuck with Games for Windows Live. But since New Vegas doesn't appear to have the "Live" part, you're stuck with Steam.

Not that I hate either, it's just each have their own problems. Steam has been around longer and worked out most of theirs.

Irony: Football Manager's recent versions all have the Games for Windows brand. But they all come with a Mac version in the box.
