Hm... look for the father who's stupid enough to believe that the insane Overseer wouldn't do anything bad after learning that your father leaves or go hunting for the guy who shot you in the head to steal some package.

Neither sound too epic to me. But then again I know the story behind Fallout 3, and I wouldn't exactly call it epic. Just silly. And not the good kind of silly. I haven't really played much except the 2 hours at a friends house(I'm waiting for patches before I buy the game), but from what I've seen, New Vegas is better.

Its an RPG, meaning you role-play, meaning you create a character, and make up his history, life, ect. Like quite a bit of RPG's.

Fallout 3 was a good game, but it wasn't a good Fallout game. New Vegas is a Fallout game. An RPG. No its not for everyone, thats not a bad thing. It just means you have different tastes.

It might get better, it might not. I don't know. But I do know that it is at its core an actual RPG with shooter elements. Rather then a shooter with RPG elements like Fallout 3. Its strengths are in the choices you make and how they affect things in the world.

Again, its not a bad thing if you don't enjoy it, but that doesn't mean the game is "meh" or "bad". It just means its not your type of game.

My apologies to the moderator who noticed my low content post here. I was trying to see how to post a link to a video where the video would show in the post. I wanted to start a new thread and didn't want to look like a fool, so I practiced on this thread that i though was pretty much dead. Still would like to know if anyone wants to comment here.

Sorry.

The game isn't really meant to be an epic in the same sense as Fallout 3 was. I see it as a sub-plot taking place in a small region untouched by the major events of previous Fallout games. When you think of it in that way, it gets more tolerable. Besides, as others have said, isn't it nice to play a game where the objective isn't saving the world for once?

It's funny, I thought New Vegas was better than Fallout 3 in almost every way. And I really liked Fallout 3. I played my brother's copy on the 360 for near enough 10 straight hours last weekend, and it's definitely going to be one of my next purchases for PC once I get the money.

It took me ages to get around to actually doing the Main storyline missions for Fallout 3, because I just really didn't find them that interesting. With New Vegas though, I felt the story was a lot more involving, and it made me want to get right at it and track that bastard Benny down. The whole interaction with the different factions thing made The Mojave Wasteland feel alive, and like a real place, whereas in comparison the Capital Wasteland often just felt empty at times. I guess I also liked the more 'Old West' feel of New Vegas.

All in all, while I really liked Fallout 3 and still think it's a great game, I just feel that New Vegas is far better.

Fallout? Epic?

I hate to break it to you but none of the Fallout games have been epic, or have even had epic on the agenda. They've always been pretty sprawling freeform games with a rough plot to keep you on track as you explore the world and get killed by deathclaws. It's not a criticism of them, but if you're looking for epic, you might be better served with an RPG in another flavour.

I do prefer New Vegas to Fallout 3 but I feel that it's quite confusing at times. In fallout 3 you had the enemy; The Enclave, and the heroes; BOS. But in New Vegas, there are so many possiblities and no primary heroes and villians. I mean, yes, NCR are meant to be good but half the stuff they do is questionable and Casaer's Legion seem to be the enemy yet heroes at the same time. Then you have Mr House, Yes Man, the BOS and it just gets too confusing. It might be just me as I prefer simple gameplay structure.

Fallout new vegas is fallout with all the leaks patched up. You can't follow the plot like a mindless zombie, you gotta walk up to the hills, look around and mosey to whatever sky-scraper tickles your fancy. You have to find your own fun.
