This movie is going to be incredible. They nailed Venom. FINALLY. You all can break it down for all the tropes, cheese, gimmicks, "the book was so much better" you like; the kid in me is NOT disappointed at ALL.

Now someone please explain this to me, but isn't the whole idea behind Venom that it's the symbiote scorned by Peter Parker/Spider-Man merging with Eddie Brock, who equally hates Peter Parker/Spider-Man? Two characters obsessed with their hatred of Spider-Man becoming one force. How is this going to work with the sole purpose for which this character even exists?

IIRC, the Life Foundation was namedropped in the first trailer. Move director Ruben Fleisher also confirmed at SDCC [https://www.cbr.com/venom-director-confirms-riot-other-villains-sdcc/] that the main antagonist is Riot. The IMDB page [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1270797/fullcredits?ref_=tt_ql_1] also has Michelle Lee listed as Donna Diego aka Scream. Who knows though. The movie is already playing fast and loose with Venom as is, cutting out the entire Spidey link and skipping straight ahead to Lethal Protector. Maybe it's (setup for) Toxin, maybe it's a different symbiote with similar colors? Riot is the only confirmed one and it doesn't have its comic colors either.
I hope it's good, venom has always been rather attractive. I imagine myself tenderly cradled in it's arms as it salaciously licks my nose and growls drooly sweet nothings in my ear. It also reminds me of The Darkness videogame in this trailer, where I can almost hear "Jackie! What did they do, Jackie? Did they hurt jenny?" And a few other things.
