This is for the record.

Take a look at that "one lousy concept art shot". Nintendo is teasing you a little more than you might realize. What does the girl resemble? Anything familiar?

The title WON'T be cell-shaded. That much is already clear. As to the motion controls, they handled much better than most people thought they did in Twilight Princess.

I've noticed that the way Nintendo seems to operate with the Zelda series is by focusing on one to two games per generation, so I'm not particularly surprised. If two games come out in the same generation, the second usually seems to do so towards the end of that generation's lifetime. Observe:

NES (released 1985):
The Legend of Zelda (1986)
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (1987)

SNES (released 1990):
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (1991)

N64 (released 1996):
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998)
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (2000)

Gamecube (released 2001):
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (2002)

Gamecube/Wii (Wii released 2006):
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (2006)

Note: The above information uses North American release dates and only counts console Zelda games.

I'm not all too upset that they're taking their time to develop this title, just so long as its good and comes out before the Wii 2 or whatever their next console will be.

I stopped getting excited about new Zelda stuff... its fun when I eventually play it.. but I looked forward to Wind Waker because it looked so different, and its still my favorite now...

on the other hand, my 2nd favorite zelda game- Majora's Mask also started off as a game made in the same engine and improving upon the last game. And that game was amazing, surprisingly dark and pretty twisted themes and imagery here and there... so who knows what we'll see.

I'd like to see a game that breaks from the formula. Another reason I like Majora's Mask. It was one of the big, high budget 3D games... but it felt like the equivilant of Link's Awakening. I really dont give a shit about Hyrule and most of the established repeat characters... particularly (Ganon/Ganondorf is behind it all...)

I want something new.

"Legend of Zelda: Throw Around A Zora"
That game is gonna be awesome
I would sell 50 games to play that! Especially after the ***** in OoT. Fucking stuck up fish...

And I hope it brings back the fun of Majora's Mask though... That game was priceless. I would love to see another game with a mask system or something like it. I preferred MM over OoT to be honest.

What glorious news. How wonderful it is to know that the graphics are most likely going to be similar to those present in Twilight Princess. Thank you, Nintendo, for shedding so much light on your newest Zelda title, a part of what is perhaps the best franchise in your possession.

Seriously, can't they be a tad more generous with the information? This is ridiculous.

Hmmmm... a new title?

I'll think one up, from your info - how about The Legend of Zelda: Daylight Prince?
You could play as the Dayman. The final boss would be Nightman, and with his defeat you would be the Champion of the Sun.
Sigh, I frickin' love it.

That show was like crack to me, then I stopped for some reason. I best watch the new series now instead of doing my assignment work. I blame you and only you.

EDIT: And I forgot to comment...

Don't you find it odd that Nintendo completely denounces the split timeline theory, and yet MM is a direct sequel to Ocarina while this is a direct sequel to TP?

How about "The Legend of Zelda: Full Moon"? That would sure increase the fanbase...somehow...

There might be a reason to the fact that they haven't given us much information. Here's an idea: THEY HAVEN"T FINALIZED ANYTHING YET! And here we are being all impatient over the lack of new info. I'd prefer a good game whose time was taken rather than a rushed piece of dog slop.

well, I guess it makes sense, all of the Zelda game have a pair

LoZ-AoL
aLttP-LA
OoT-MM
OoA-OoS
FS-FSA
MC
WW-PH
TP-next title
ST

well, Spirit Tracks is the newest title, so it doesn't have a pair yet.
What is up with Minish Cap?

They don't discount the direct sequels (Majora's Mask, Phantom Hourglass, this one) from their prequels (Ocarina, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess). They denounce the relation of the prequels to each other (Ocarina of Time to Zelda I to Wind Waker to blah blah blah...). So we have direct sequels, but we don't have an overarching story arc between pairs.

Well, if they keep going at this pace we could look at a conservative release date of fall...2020

He means that last game that counts. (oh snap.) But seriously, the portable Zelda games are good if your stuck on a trip, but they can't compare to the Zelda games on consoles.
