Except these days EA is anything but well-intentioned, and is more interested in Rockefeller-style buying out other companies simply to create a monopoly that serves them best, rather than allowing their parts to remain autonomous. (no matter how profitable they may be on their own). To them it's not about preserving what makes Valve good, it's about taming Valve and making sure they can still get money out of them, but are not a threat to their bureaucracy. Or at least, that's what I've gathered from what they've done to their previous acquisitions that were very profitable before EA got ahold of them and now either don't exist or simply aren't the same anymore.Pescetarian said:

I don't see what the problem is. EA comes along says "here is cash, give ownership", any company they say it to says No way you poorly managed, evil conglomerate" and EA gradually fades away by pissing off everyone who gives it money.
