Well Mass Effect 3 and the Walking Dead might be considered a thing now, for two weeks in a row a new commercial for the game has been revealed during the Walking Dead's airtime.

This trailer is a live action trailer instead of a fansy CGI, or in-game graphics trailer.

It gives a bit more of an individual feel over a population feel like the past trailer released. It was an interesting trailer in my opinion, I just don't really know how I actually feel about it as of right now.

Ah, Halo 4 is looking pretty nice there. Good to see.

...

I still want to know why they apparently sacked the trailer team from ME2, because those folks...

But that... thing up there? If I didn't know what it was, that trailer would not cause me to buy it. In fact, it would cause me to determinedly jam my wallet back into my pocket and mutter something pretentious about bland shooters.

I really like the first part, with the kind of global terror vibe, but the second part just falls a bit flat. Which is ironic as it is the part with the most "action".

Yeah I felt the same way, the first part definitely gave humanity a face in terms of why you want to save earth. But then it just trips itself by having to have the lone hero blowing up some geth. Not their best, but good in some ways, and not so much in others

*sigh*

I really don't get what it is with these live action trailers and why people make them.

"We're advertsing a video game...hmmm...let's make a live action trailer!"

Meh, decent enough. Seemed pretty Gears of War 3-ish...only the people hadn't been converted to ash quite yet. :p

P.S. Quick question: who's the chick in the blue armor from the Take Back Earth trailer?

It's Ashley Williams from the first game.

Yeah, they changed her face in the trailer. I'm guessing standard-issue Ashley wasn't sufficiently "hot" for marketing material.

Wow. Yeah, that's quite the transformation. I honestly thought it was supposed to be Miranda.

Yeah that pisses me off. I thought Ashley was fine the way she was, but Bioware felt the need to make her 'super sexy' in order to bring in bigger crowds. It's a shame but I'm trying to look past it because I waited this long to see my romance with her concluded and I'm damn well going to do it.
That said, I guess I should be grateful that Ashley is at least wearing her armor in that trailer because it means Bioware is at least mature enough to remember that Ash is a soldier and thus should dress to the part.

Anyway OT:
I don't really care for this trailer, possibly because I was hoping to see Ashley and Garrus and maybe some other aliens in the trailer as well but it's just humans and Earth again. I can't help but think that focussing only on Earth detracts from what the game is supposed to be about, full scale galactic war and forging interspecies alliances. Moving past old prejudices against a common enemy.
Here all I'm seeing is 'OMG EARTH ARE IN DANGER!!! FOCUS ON THAT AND ONLY THAT!!!'

I gotta say though I miss the Mass Effect 1 and 2 style of trailer. They were able to show clips from the game and without any spoilers were able to give you a rough idea of what the plot was about, who the villain was, who the characters were, some of the action and some of the romance as well.
I can't say I really care for this current trend of context free action scenes like thresher maws attacking reapers or random battles or Earth being invaded and destroyed. I like to think there is more to Mass Effect then that.

You know what? I don't even care anymore. All you people that are like "Oh, blah blah blah this game isn't going where I want it to go" no longer matter to me. I loved this trailer. I like the fact that since I ordered the CE I get a cool Prothean character. I'm going to love this game. And that's all that matters.

Nice burn on the second half of the trailer. I liked it up to 0:38 though.

And thanks for the reminder of the Dirty Dozen trailer! I had forgotten how good that was. Also, never saw the Mass Effect 2 launch trailer - I'm suprised how many spoilers they packed in there without actually spoiling much. I'm slightly saddened that [canon]Shep is apparently romancing Miranda though.[footnote]She seems nice, but not my type. That obviously means that [canon]Shep needs to not romance her.[/footnote]

I kinda doubt they would sack them... and the Dirty Dozen trailer is made by a different team who make cinematic trailers for a buisness, seperate from Bioware... I think.

I -really- digged the first half of this trailer, but as others said, it kinda fell flat in the second half, oh well, you win some, you lose some.

I'm already super excited for the game, so all I can is I like that they are showing more emotion in the trailers, rather than just "here's some shots of Shepard being a badass."

That second video is the launch trailer, we haven't hit that video so we have to wait. Supposedly there is going to be another video being released next week during The Walking Dead again so who knows which on that might end up being.

I don't get why they show sheppard allone beating up some husks at the end.
This is not epic.
The fight at the end of "Take Earth back" was.

Wow nice graphics :p

But seriously why bother with shit like this, such a pointless trailer especially after the take back Earth one.

Because EA is giving more than enough resources to make sure this game is one of the top games of the year. They allotting a lot resources to marketing as well as to Bioware to make sure this game sells really really well, so that means trailers.
