P.S. Quick question: who's the chick in the blue armor from the Take Back Earth trailer?
It's Ashley Williams from the first game.
Yeah, they changed her face in the trailer. I'm guessing standard-issue Ashley wasn't sufficiently "hot" for marketing material.
Yeah that pisses me off. I thought Ashley was fine the way she was, but Bioware felt the need to make her 'super sexy' in order to bring in bigger crowds. It's a shame but I'm trying to look past it because I waited this long to see my romance with her concluded and I'm damn well going to do it.
That said, I guess I should be grateful that Ashley is at least wearing her
armor in that trailer because it means Bioware is at least mature enough to remember that Ash is a
soldier and thus should dress to the part.
Anyway OT:
I don't really care for this trailer, possibly because I was hoping to see Ashley and Garrus and maybe some other aliens in the trailer as well but it's just humans and Earth again. I can't help but think that focussing only on Earth detracts from what the game is supposed to be about, full scale galactic war and forging interspecies alliances. Moving past old prejudices against a common enemy.
Here all I'm seeing is 'OMG EARTH ARE IN DANGER!!! FOCUS ON THAT AND ONLY THAT!!!'
I gotta say though I miss the Mass Effect 1 and 2 style of trailer. They were able to show clips from the game and without any spoilers were able to give you a rough idea of what the plot was about, who the villain was, who the characters were, some of the action and some of the romance as well.
I can't say I really care for this current trend of context free action scenes like thresher maws attacking reapers or random battles or Earth being invaded and destroyed. I like to think there is more to Mass Effect then that.
