It depends really...in no particular order:

Final Fantasy VII NES demake
Chibi-Robo: Zipline/amiibo (it's clearance at my store; if the price doesn't drop again I think I can price-match it)
Dragon Quest VII 3DS
Shantea: Half-Genie Hero & Shantea & the Pirates Curse (close release window even if one is on Wii U and the other on 3DS)
Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack

Again, these are in no particular order. There's a huge list of games I've got my eyes on so if I find one of them at the right price I'm going to pounce. What's more, I just bought 2 games within the last few days and next week the Amazon gremlins will have delivered them. Kirby's Return to Dreamland (new for under $60!?) and, Blood of Bahamut (an import that I can play on domestic hardware?! for less than $10!?!)

Doom (the latest one)
Dragon Quest I&II (GBC)
Dragon Quest III (GBC)
Final Fantasy: Type Zero HD
Killzone: Shadows Fall
River City Random (GBA)
Spyborgs
Steamworld Collection
Witcher 3: Complete

1. Persona 5
2. Final Fantasy XV
3. Legend of Zelda - Breath Of The Wild

That's all I have at the moment. I'm sure I'll pick up some others, but they tend to be more of a spur of the moment "I fancy playing this now" or "Oh, I forgot this was out" sort of thing. But these three are on my Day 1 purchase list.

If I can find Bloodborne cheap enough I may pick that up. And maybe Xenoblade Chronicles X.

I want that too, as long as it is not online
I dont know what you mean by online though. I dont think you need to worry about competitive multiplayer being added ever. I do wish I could just have one co-op partner to adventure with. Just one.
Co-op would be a lot of fun but, particularly competitive online games tend to frown on modding as it is like cheating. Heck, it is cheating, but if I'm in single player, developers should let me do what I want. The point is to have fun, which, with mods, I had a ton. (Wish single player games had more cheat codes too). At my age, I'm more into the experience than frustration that can come with a hard game.

Forgot about FF15. I haven't really loved FF since X (top 5 of Gen 6 IMHO). I'd be interested in seeing what the end product is like. I may have to get it too.

I see Bloodborne new for $20 a lot. I picked it up. It is hard. I like easy games but people are so positive about this, I have to give it another shot. I'm seeing a lot of love for Persona. May have to pick up the Vita version to try it out sometime. But Zelda? I loved the series up to OOT but not since. I may have to get this one too. It looks good and the Wii U has been, for me, a better experience than the Wii.

The Last Guardian
Maybe the Skyrim Special Edition.
And maybe the Batman Arkham remaster.

And then in the beginning of next year Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mass Effect: Andromeda.

There's still other games coming out that I'm not too clear on when though, like Gravity Rush 2, the Dead Rising remaster, and that new Nier game.

Pokemon Sun or Moon (got excited about it again with Pokemon Go)
Tekken 7 (Nina Williams and Asuka Kazama in next gen... giggity giggity)
Possibly the Final Fantasy XII remaster (Quite enjoyed it, but had trouble adjusting to the gameplay)
Also possibly Final Fantasy XV (if it gets good reviews)

That's all I can think of for now.

Games I'll most likely will buy at release or near release if they get good reviews and I like what I see from a finished game:

Battlefield 1 (this is almost certain, because it's Battlefield)
Escape from Tarkov
Mafia 3
Dishonored 2
Syberia 3

The only one I can think of is just Pokemon Sun and Moon.

Granted there are a few more like Starr Mazer, Doko Roko and that Skullgirl tablet but they still haven't confirm a release date just yet.

New? I'm not sure I don't play many current-gen games.

That said I am looking forward to Tyranny, Torment: Tides of Numenera, and Mafia III. That's only 3 but I can't think of any others off the top of my head atm, maybe the new Prey if it turns out any good?

Bloodborne was crazy hard. Like, way harder then the Souls series. If you don't care about the challenge, then summon someone to help you during boss fights. A good partner can trivialize most fights. It's worth it for the atmosphere and story.

As for Persona, it was probably the only good JRPG coming out for a while. It doesn't hurt that there was such a large gap in between games. You can try Persona 3 or 4 on PSN for about ten bucks.

If I were to guess...

1. NHL 17 unless it sucks (September 13)
2. Mafia 3 maybe. I liked the first one but didn't play 2 (October 7)
3. The Last Guardian if it isn't crap. But after all this time, it's probably crap (October 25)
4. Dishonored 2. This one is pretty much a certainty (November 11)
5. Nioh. Whenever this comes out, I'm going to be all over it. Loved the alpha and beta demos (TBA)

1. Horizon: Zero Dawn or Mafia III. Whichever looks to be better. I haven't played an open-world game in some time, but I also don't want to get two in the space of a few months.

2. For Honor. Depends on reviews. The last fun game with sword combat that I played was Shadow of Mordor.

3. Mass Effect Andromeda or Final Fantasy XV. For FFXV, the combat looks to be more my speed, but then I have never played a JRPG, so this would be my first. On the other hand ME:A is sounding really good, and I love me a good third person shooter.

4. Call of Duty IW or Titanfall 2. Really unlikely, but if both of their singleplayers are great, then I will choose the one that is longer. The gameplay of the two games seem to be very similar, though I do think Titanfall 2 is more appealing.

5. Battlefield 1. Now this one's a doozy. This should be number one. I really liked the beta, and was pissed that EA didn't extend it. However, I am planning to invest in either a gaming laptop or a PC in August. If BF1 is a mess on release, and isn't completely fucking loved by everyone, then I will wait till next year to get it on PC. I really don't want to have to pay for another year of PS+ just for one game, especially when they just recently increased the prices.

Bannerlord (sequel to my favourite game ever, so hell yes I'm buying it new)
TES 6
Maybe Civ VI if my friend pesters me enough to get it

Apart from those, I honestly can't say. Probably something as a gift. I don't buy many new games. I almost always wait for Steam sales. The last game I bought new was the Witcher 3.

I'm going to tailor my response a little. These are the upcoming games I would be willing to pay full price for.

Dishonored 2
Forza Horizon 3

Both on PC. I had resigned myself to not being able to play Forza anymore once I moved from xbox to PC and I'm thrilled that barrier is coming down. Not happy about UWP but hey, if the games run well I'll suck it up.

Gears 4 is a maybe buy and definitely not at full price. Love the franchise, but the footage I've seen looks pretty bad.
For Honor, Planet Coaster, Titanfall, Battlefield, Mafia 3, Mass Effect, and Divinity are all wait and sees as well.
