This is certainly an interesting take on battlefield. I have to say I'm surprised that they're moving away from MERICA's many different kinds of soldiers and jerking the country off and instead moving onto the less glamorous police. Hopefully this means that we won't have to deal with the usual asine part of modern military shooters where you fight Russia because reasons, or China because reasons, or a TURRURIST getting a nuke. Then again there are still plenty of ways it could get messed up, some of the police in the US are rather corrupt, so here's hoping we the devs don't do anything stupid.

Visceral games taking over single player is rather interesting, and rather mind blowing. EA actually CARES about a good single player...at the very least a little. Still, we're gonna have to wait and see if they can make anything worthwhile, and that's not guaranteed.

Well, what do you think?

So we'll be shooting civilians and beating protesters? Just kidding... mostly.

After the fiasco that was Battlefield 4, most people probably shouldn't care. It'll likely be another DLC pit, micro-transaction infested piece of garbage, even if the single player might be okay. Visceral did a decent job with Dead Space 1 and 2.

We'll never see Dead Space 4, will we? Not even caring that Dead Space 3 was disappointing, but I hate cliffhanger endings.

I've always wanted a more urban based shooter, but I don't think cops are a good choice. They can't just run through the streets shooting people as they please. I'll keep an eye out on it, but I won't get my hopes up.

This is a waste of Visceral's talent. I would much rather see them create another new, interesting series rather than help DICE out with their trash. Battlefield seemed to be going in a unique direction with the Bad Company series, and then basically ended up in hypocrisy by becoming with Battlefield 3/4 what they had parodied with Bad Company just for the sake of grabbing a few more bucks.

Dead Space was a great series, one of my favourites. I want to see Visceral go even further with their innovations than that series.

I think the idea of a cop's and robber's themed FPS is a good one, as the trailer mentioned all the right ingredients are there for some good gameplay. As long as it's marketed as a sort of "sub-franchise" like the Bad Company series of games was then the whole thing looks quite promising. I don't really think the name "Omaha" is much good though. It's pointlessly evocative of D-Day which is irrelevant to what the game is about.

It's a shame they didn't continue with the Bad Company games really and instead made Battlefield 4. The FPS's market is so over-saturated there is now a ridiculous amount of material to make a really good satirical game about the state of the genre. After Battlefield 3, DICE should have re-made 2142, but EA's hell bent on chasing Call of Duty.

So mixing Payday with BF this could be interesting. I can't help but think people might call it a ripoff of Payday but it looks like they put some real work into this.

Unless the resulting game is little more than a hoard mode I don't think you'd be able to call it a Payday ripoff. Payday is great and all but I simply can't see them emulating that as a single player experience. Without other people, payday is just awful.
