Another simple and straightforward thread for The Escapist community. Post as you please, pics or text. And lets see how it goes.
After purchasing a PS Plus subscription, along with Rocket League and Guns, Gore and Cannoli. I'll likely not be purchasing anything for a while. My next purchase may be.
I got that fallout 4 season pass for 20% off the original price so I guess dat fallout dlc counts as my next new purchase. I don't see myself getting anything else new for a minute with all that I'm playing right now though.
The last game I picked up was Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments. I got it for around $6.00 during the holiday sales and it was definitely quite a lot of fun.
As for the next game I'm going to get, it will probably end up being some little indie game. I'm generally not someone who thinks along the lines of "indie games are best games" but those games have been a large part of what I've been buying lately. Particularly since there have been few big releases lately that have interested me.
1st one I got my 1st Digimon game as I'm not really a fan of the IP, but the game looks like a good JRPG, which is my favorite genre, so I thought I give it a try. New from Amazon germany.
After watching a pick up video reminding me that a 3rd GB Turtles game exists, I simply bought it on the Amazon Marketplace, used, cartridge only.
I never played the original and I simply prefer to play on a home console, I only play on handhelds when it's the only way to play a game, also only 30 bucks, new from Amazon germany.
As a huge fan of the Neptunia franchise this was a no brainer, new from Amazon germany.
Has an unusual but nice reversable cover
A german store called M?ller has a special sale on their website every sunday, and they had this game for only 10 bucks, new.
And the last game I got was Rabi Ribi on Steam, normally I don't spend more than 10 bucks on digital only games but I'm currently watching NakaTeleeli's LP of it and it's so cute and combines bullet hell (with the bosses mostly) with metroidvania, and I was pretty down that day, so I payed the 18 bucks. 6 hours in and I'm glad I don't regret it like I did spending 15 on Shovel Knight, I just don't enjoy that game much.
My next 5 games should be a bundle of all japanese Gameboy/Color Ganbare Goemon games I bought off ebay, I friggin love the Ganbare Goemon IP, should hopefully arrive from japan this week. (ebay picture)
EDIT: Oh I forgot 2 more digital purchases
1st one is Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment which was on sale on the US PSN.
Next one needs a bit of explanation, in germany we had a promotion in december where MS gave you a discount on an XB1 bundle of your choice, up to 150?, depending on how high your Gamerscore is, and if you already had an XB1 but you gave that discount code to someone else and that person used it, you got Forza Horizon 2 on XB1 for free. I got an 70? discount with my 80k+ GS but since I already had an XB1 from the last time they did this in june, where I got a 100? discount and used it, I gave it to my brother and got the free game.
The last games that I've bought were for my girlfriend ...Bravely Default, Pokemon X and Yo-Kai Watch. But personally I'm waiting for the SMT IV: Final.
I have zero idea what game I'm going to be getting next as I have not gotten it yet. It might be Far Cry: Primal, it might be something entirely different, but as it stands I don't have any plans for getting any other games at the moment. As for the other half of the question, the last game I bought was Medal of Honor: Rising Sun. I currently have no means of playing it, but that's because my brother left the PS2 a college despite never using it.
Last Game I got: Gravity Rush Re.
A messy, shoddy game, saved by so much charm, atmosphere, art direction and general feel good flying around sensation that I forgive it simply for the fun I got out of it. I wholeheartedly am looking forward to how much more polished the 2nd game will be.
Next Game i'll get: Dark Souls 3.
Let's see if this is the one that ties all the good mechanics of the entire Souls series together into a good finale.
Last game I bought was in that Lunar steam sale and it was that PC port of Dragon's Dogma. Was a pretty decent purchase. I never got into Dragon's Dogma on console but now that I forced myself to barge through it until I reached the capital then fucked off to do my own thing it's a pretty nice game.
Next game will probably be Pokemon Red or Blue, they've just been made available for the 3DS and they're going for a decent price. I just don't know if I want Ekans and Oddish or do I want Meowth and Vulpix. It's actually MUCH more of a dilemma than it sounds.
Apart from No Man's Sky and VERY maybe Far Cry Primal, nothing comes to mind. I've gotten kinda tired of the 'updated but mostly the same sequel of a previous title' stuff the AAA industry brings us, and very few indie games interest me.
