Next gaming franchise to be rebooted/should be rebooted

With Devil May Cry and Tomb Raider hitting the story/design reset button for better or worse. What gaming franchise will or should hit the reset button.

Knights of the Old Republic. It would give them a chance to remake Kotor 2 with it's true amount of content intended, and then make 3 with the conclusion of Revan's story.

Since most of the games are detached from one another, a rebooted Final Fantasy would just hold the tag of "Final Fantasy 1", it would still play like just a new one.

Will hit soon: WoW, what with Cataclysm, its pretty much a reboot.

Should hit soon: Too Human. If they fixed the few bugs in the first one and made the game slightly better, then they couldn't have ended it on a cliff hanger and leave me pissed off for many many years now.

I'd love to see the reset button hit on Jak & Daxter.
The original games were a lot of fun but they told their story and then went on to be racecar drivers for some reason? I dunno.

Just take the characters and setting and tell a new story with it.

I know this sounds a little odd but, Legend of Zelda. I love LoZ, but the I feel like they haven't taken enough chances (I'm not even gonna mention the silly motion control fad that is characterizing the next one, because I say "bleh" to the Wii). Wind Waker and Majora's Mask were amazing -- you CAN do Zelda differently. Twilight Princess was good, but it felt like an upgraded OoT.

I personally would like to see a Steampunk Hyrule where you visit like factories instead of dungeons and find out the true origin of the hookshot and all that. That "ancient technology" had to come from somewhere, right? Maybe the hookshot/clawshot are actually robot hands or something. And maybe make Link a cute girl.

*ahem* Forget that last one. Now that I said it aloud, it sounds weird.

Should reboot soonoom.
The original was a lot of fun, but the next two just lacked in visuals, thrills and storyline. If they would just start over from the beginning and stop dragging around the dead carcass of a story that they currently have, then the game might actually be fun to play.

Should NOT reboot soon: Little Big Planet. The game is just so inventive and plainly quirky that it should take the original premise and run with it, and not stop for at least some time to come.

Y'know what I want rebooted? StarFox. Just a simple game like 64, free of continuity, and filled instead with good ol' space-flyin', occasional tank-drivin' fun.

Another series would be MGS. Just to see what kind of story it would have if given the chance to do it differently.

Gotcha Force, massivly unappreciated third person shooter (i suppose shooter) game where you play as action figures from space ranging from a standard action figure to an atomic bomb and i kid you not a goddamn gigantic airship. sadly itll never get rebooted because it never really had that much of a fanbase.

I'd ove to see that or Spyro rebooted, i was going to say Gex but Spyro was alway better.

I'd agree with you, if Naughty dog didn't sell their rights to the game. It just got worse and worse after Spyro 3.

Age of Mythology- better graphics, more civilizations like Japan, Persia, Aztecs, etc. You cannot deny that a samurai fighting a minotaur is pure win.

I'd say FF should be rebooted but... no. I want it to die in peace now. I'd like Pokemon to get a proper reboot, but some could say that B&W is a reboot of a sort. I'd also say Baldur's Gate, but that has, in a way, been rebooted into Dragon Age, which I'm not fully pleased with...
MGS is getting the reboot treatment, Splinter Cell just got it, Cataclysm is rebooting WoW... I'm going to go out and say I want C&C to get a reboot. There's still glory to be had in that game. Not another Kane saga, not another Red Alert, but something different, attempt to recapture the compelling nature the first few had but in a fresh atmosphere.
