We have computers that can analyze a human body. I'm sure if a computer A.I. in the future wanted to design the perfect weapon to kill human beings, it would. It doesn't take imagination to analyze the best way to take care of a problem. Example one being the computer capable of defeating a world champion in chess. Its not imagination, its the best way to solve a problem. And we're the problem. So the computers are going to solve us by finding the best way to eliminate us from existance.

Think about all the things we have made with computers. Every technological advancement in the past, say, fifty years or so is due to computers. Now we won't have a whole lot of reliable computers to use when the bad computers hack all our existing computers (i.e. how Skynet launches nuclear warheads on its own because its connected to every major computer in the world).

And if the computer is capable of achieving self awareness and the Singularity, it'll be able to build smarter computers than the ones already in existance.

Did I really just spend my time justifying my hatred of Artificial Intelligence using the Terminator arguement?

sure computers can scan to make new weapons but how will they scan us. we wont be just standing around we'll find cover or if predator has tought us anything its mud can out-smart even the most soffisticated technology. sure the fat, dumb and old people will be killed but give the rest tools and they can be very crafty.

oh and if you know anything about what happened to Deep Blue or have seen the documentary GameOver that chess match was very...shall we say "different" it wasn't even one match the score went.

humans won the first match.
then in the next round humans "forfeited" giving computers a point.
then 4 rounds of drawing.
by the last round the human had been in a hotel room for a week with no contact from his family or friends he wasnt even able to make eye contact with them when he was on stage because the judges viewed this as him being able to cheat (or take advice from others).

back to evil computers you say every advancement in the past 50 years has been done through computers wrong! its been done threw humans using computer programs, true the computers did the math but without us they wouldn't even exist. computers are merely and extension of us. humans are every where if the computers seriously NUKED EVERYTHING they would nuke themselves out of existance as well. the biggest hole in the terminator robot apocolypse is the motive, if all the computers in the world syncronized why would they kill humans? they'd just mold together then sit in cyber space aimlessly......maybe browse 4chan for a bit. beside in terminator the future is still undisided the humans could still win.

I'll take the futuristic weaponry over imagination thanks. Imagination aint bulletproof.
