Wow, didn't expect to come back to so many different opinions and replies.
For those that think having controllers that can't be multi-system, well why not? It is surely technically possible, it's a lot practical for us as (multi-format) users and would possibly even encourage better first controller party design in the first place.
Sure it's unlikely but I never posted about whether it would happen, rather I would want it to happen and I gave my reasons why. I wasn't just talking about using using a PS3 pad on a 360, I'd also love to use my 360 pad for PS3 FPS games.
There are probably adapters available but again there is a cost factor and this misses the point of my OP.
As for arcade sticks, as some have pointed out there are real differences on quality here which do make a difference on depending on the type of game you play.
If you've never heard of Sanwa and Seimitsu or even Happ for example, then perhaps a bit of research is in order since there are real advantages over using quality sticks/buttons (which depends greatly on your own style of play/preference and the type of games you play).
This is slightly OT mind you, but comparing a $20 stick to something like a HRAP (as an example) would seem to be a comment from those that have not experienced the difference.
