I don't know how well some of the corniness is going to fare though. I almost expected that rat villain to say 'This is the dawn of the sea otter'. And that kid has got to be the most typical boy prince I've ever seen.
But yeah, that Ghibli color palette is finger-licking good.
Hm. I loved the art of the first one (of course) but it was definitely, at heart, a kids' game. Just too repetitive and easy to keep my attention, and that's pretty bad coming from me.. I hope 2 has more real challenge rather than grind. Or at least offer a hard difficulty option. Would be a must have.
I wish I could be excited about this game but I wasn't the fan of the first one. I really wanted to like the game but eventually, 1st Ni NO Kuni wore me out. I'll buy it if they fix the goddamn battle system and pick up the pacing. I don't think I've even got to the part where the White Witch starts wrathing.
Looks pretty great, this is on my radar now for sure. Never did pick up the original, it looked appealing but didn't have the right console at the time and it ended up being passed over.
Hopefully they tone down the restrictive hand holding - aka Mr. Drippy - and let you explore a bit more of the 'normal' world as well as the magical world if they decide to include that.
The first game had some of the worst team AI I have ever seen, casting spells would sometimes completely stop the battle and sometimes not, and the post Shadar story was pretty weak and unfulfilling.
And I am still going to get a PS4 for this game specifically!
