Nicknames can be a terrible, and wonderful thing. But if you get stuck with a bad one (like most) then it can make your social life a living hell.

I've been tagged with ALOT of nicknames through the years. Ranging from my first, middle, and last name. But I'm looking for nicknames that you've EARNED through some action, or misfortune, or even something appearence related (most common type).

To get the ball rolling I'll share a story of how I got my terrible nickname that followed me for years... (sigh) when I was in third grade I was attacked by a german shepard, and it injured me pretty badly, when I told some of my classmates they started calling me "Squeak".
That nickname has followed me for years, but eventually I asked people to call me K9.

So I ask you, my fellow escapists to share the nicknames that you have been tagged with, and how you got them.

I'm Nicholas but it's just easier and shorter to say Nick.
Not much of a nickname I know...

Apparently, when I was a little kid, my hands were oddly large.
Mom called them paws, and I was nicknamed "The Big Dog"
I don't really mind it, honestly.

most recently I got the name Steve because I apparently look like the character Steve off the Reservoir Dogs movies.

Got the name Twitch back in high school when I was a caffeine addict.

Most people shorten my name to Trev or Triv, which is perfectly fine. During my time in sixth form though, I somehow managed to acquire the nickname 'Tripod Triv'. I won't explain how this happened, though, I'd much rather see what people's guesses are... ;)

Me and my freinds play football at lunch and one of the guys that plays with us has the nickname Mitchell 2.0 and I'm 1.0. I dont really know how it started because I arrived to the first game of the year and he was already there being called that, his real name is Alex.

Everyone was jealous of your massive penis in the lovker room?

OT:I despise nicknames. I prefer to be called by my actual name, not some bullshit. I've even punched a kid in the face for calling me Mike.
Thats a bit extreme, is your full name Michael?

MY nickname usually goes to 'Monk' during the winter months because I wear this hoodie which has a huge hood that covers most of my face, much like a priest hood.

"Shiney Shoes" When i played football in highschool we were required to get navy blue cleats so that we matched the school color. They didn't say what model shoe we needed so i got cleats in a navy blue cover, made of some fabric not plastic, so i could just zip up the cover and it would stay on my feet. Yay for being lazy! They were almost a bright blue but the box called it navy blue. After a half season of football everyone had mud, "sweat, and blood" on the uniform and cleats, but for some reason my shoes remained relatively unscathed and bright which is odd for a lineman seeing as we block, get our feet stepped on, and fall a lot. My defensive lineman coach was amazed at how clean my uniform stayed even though I've played hard and did my job so he made fun of how bright and "Shiny" my shoes were. I was shiney shoes for two years until I graduated, but it was an inside nickname that only the other players called me. I never saw it as disrespectful or negative, and being the odd ball jock/geek, I play video games religiously and love physical and aeronautical sciences, they were uncharacteristically nice towards me. Most of my friends call me by my gamertag though... speaking of which, in my old CoD:UO clan .:SA:. I was called "The One Man Army" or the clan's "Psychopath." every clan has at least one ;D

No nickname for me. Though, I don't care too much about it.

My name's only three letters anyway, so it's easier to just say that instead of something else.

Obviously...

"Kid" my dad has called me that ever since I was wee.

"Dangerous" short for Dangerous Dan.

"Knoxville" Because of the way I dress, people say I look like Johnny Knoxville.

There have been others, but none of them stuck like these theree have.
