Like Beatles albums, I think my favorite Nicolas Cage movie will always be the one I've seen most recently. It just so happens to be Valley Girl. Amidst the rollercoaster of emotions in his films, people forget how well he plays kind of dumb, but sweet.

Incredibly relevant: http://niccageaseveryone.blogspot.ca/

The universe as we know it is a lie. Few dare look behind the veil of reality, but when they do, they find only Cage.

Probably Con Air. So many great actors in there, with Cage making it even better, but the way they kept pushing the fucking bunny lines to become some sort of catch phrase really annoyed me.

Moonstruck is also awesome. One of his first big movies and he only got the part because Cher said she wouldn't do it if he didn't get the part. He was only 23 years old!
Rewatched it for the first time in like ten years not too long ago. He's not that bad, but there's plenty of Cage wibes in there.

Totally looks like he forgot the script and had to read from a card during his sad speech. <3
Starts around 1:10.

I really love It Could Happen To You, which is comfortably the sanest thing he's ever done.

For crazy, can't look past Face/Off.

While I've been a fan of the man's work since the film Birdy, my favorite Cage movie has to be Amos and Andrew. A film that is a hilarious and scathing look at the ignorant politics of racism, with the added bonus of also staring Brad Dourif Dabney Coleman and Samuel L. Jackson. What's not to like.

Lots of people have already mentioned Lord of War so I will have to go with Bringing Out the Dead. He is awesome as a volatile, worn out paramedic in a "noir" city setting.

Surprised no one mentioned Adaptation, it's legitimately one of my favorite films.
Same here. And I might as well go and mention Valley Girl in order to properly educate these young'uns.

Talking about Nicholas Cage has literally formed the entirety of my relationship with a girl and it turned out the other day that she'd barely actually seen any Cage films. At first, this broke me inside and then with a moment of clarity I realised that she'll be even more crazy about him once she's actually seen more of his stuff and Cage will bless us both with his beneficence or possibly just some mood-altering substances.

Oh God, I've bought 4chan to the escapist...

I'm honestly surprised this thread made it past 10 posts... and that nobody has said National Treasure yet, because that's what Nick is, nay, an international treasure.

That film was bizarrely enjoyable and despite reading the plot on wikipedia and not seeing anything there remain convinced there was some president-kidnapping in that movie. I guess it'll never match up to bear-suited lady-punching though.
