Yeah, those are qualities I've always looked for in Capcom games. PFft, bwahahaha, I couldn't do it...I couldn't say it with a straight face.Undeadpool said:Remember everyone: Graphics and appearances are secondary to storytelling and gameplay...until it's a character whose appearance you care about.

Dante is now half demon\half angel, NTs own description of Dante is an angry\angsty\rebel teenager, 30fps confirmed, "cinematic" slowdowns during fights, a devil trigger that consists solely of knocking surrounding enemies into the air and going slo mo so you can use them as sandbags, removing styles, awkwardly mapping weapon switching to the D pad, cloning HS power\speed\range stances with Human\Demon\Angel forms.Negatempest said:The story, we know little of, Dante in the game we know little of, the gameplay we are getting some bits and pieces here and there. Who the main enemy is...I don't know.
So, with extremely little to no "real" information on DMC: Devil May Cry, "fans" are already condemning it. Haven't seen such a fickle bunch of spectators since the Witch Hunts in North American past.
Condemn the witch, since we have no solid evidence that she is a witch!
Sparda chose to fight for the human world before he met Eva, you have the canon wrong I'm afraid. This is becoming ever prevalent the longer the DmC is shit arguments go on, it seems people have the wrong end of the stickRawne1980 said:Then they are changing actual canon story. Dante's mother was a human, that was the whole reason Sparda took to fighting for the humans in the first place, IT'S THE WHOLE REASON FOR FUCKING DMC. Now NT have come along and said Dante's mother was an Angel .... wait, what? So how would Sparda fit in to fighting for humans, why would Dante give a shit and which moron is writing this crap.
Sparda's activities over the next two thousand years are shrouded in legend, though it is understood that for a time after defeating Mundus, he ruled over the humans before eventually vanishing. Sparda later appeared in the twentieth century where he met and fell in love with a human woman named Eva, who bore him twin sons.
Its a reboot, anything is game, for all we know in this timeline Virgil doesn't exist.Rawne1980 said:Also, if this is before he became the Dante we now know, where the hell is Virgil. He would still be alive now and as mental as ever unless we're rebooting his whole family and getting rid of his brother ..... the whole reason for DMC 3.
Once again, its a reboot, I've found the internets attitude to DmC somewhat bothersome, the way ignorance has been bandied about as fact, people's thoughts on the canon of Devil May Cry actually contradicting the DMC canon itself.Rawne1980 said:So now lets be honest. This isn't a reboot of Devil May Cry, it's an entirely different game set to sell because it has DMC tagged on to it. They have changed Dante and bastardised the entire fucking story and his family tree. It is not a Devil May Cry game. It's a different game with the same mechanics.
Yes, thats still just a fraction though, basically the tip of the iceberg. Angry/Angsty can still mean anything. Cartman from south park is angry and angsty. Bart Simpson is angry and angsty. Kamina fits the bill of an angry and rebellious teenager. There are MANY ways you can go with angry and rebellious.cgentero said:Dante is now half demon\half angel, NTs own description of Dante is an angry\angsty\rebel teenager, 30fps confirmed, "cinematic" slowdowns during fights, a devil trigger that consists solely of knocking surrounding enemies into the air and going slo mo so you can use them as sandbags, removing styles, awkwardly mapping weapon switching to the D pad, cloning HS power\speed\range stances with Human\Demon\Angel forms.Negatempest said:The story, we know little of, Dante in the game we know little of, the gameplay we are getting some bits and pieces here and there. These are all facts gathered from Capcom\NT releases and behind closed doors previews. The only interesting news is dynamic environment changes and how the world is "alive".
We know so little huh?
There is more I didn't mentionNegatempest said:Yes, thats still just a fraction though, basically the tip of the iceberg.
Here is a quote for you.Negatempest said:Angry/Angsty can still mean anything. Cartman from south park is angry and angsty. Bart Simpson is angry and angsty. Kamina fits the bill of an angry and rebellious teenager. There are MANY ways you can go with angry and rebellious.
In the Gamescom trailer it goes slo mo and cinematic while enemies are still around, this worries me. Also on Dante Must Die enemies were constantly attacking and moving but the new devil trigger is a mechanic devoted to the ultimate sandbag experience.Negatempest said:The "amount" of slowdown is unknown. Enslaved had the slowdown, but only during short but satisfying moments. Enemies in DMC were nearly always used as sandbags.
Multiple professional game sites are untrustworthy? it was only not shown to the public.Negatempest said:And information behind closed doors....really? I'm not saying that the information is wrong, just that information behind closed doors tends to be....minimal at best.
Actually, if you read one of my later posts, you'll see I mentioned just that. DMC2 (the one everyone hated) was hated because of Dante's shift in personality from goofy to serious and the environments changed from detailed to spacious. From the trailers, it seems NT is copying directly from those aspects that were hated. Like they're deliberately trying to piss people off.StarStruckStrumpets said:The only DMC with a serious Dante was 2, and it seems everyone but me hated that game. Then again, Dante did have one or two truly badass lines in that game.
Eh, I don't really know. The look doesn't matter to me at all, DMC has always been about keeping shit in the air for more than twenty seconds and changing weapons at the speed of light. I'll give this game a chance.
You know that's not true, the rogering that Sonic's been getting from Sonic Team for the last, what 20 years, was definitely worse than Lucas's new 'vision'.Akalabeth said:If you don't like it. Don't buy it.
It's pretty simple
After what Lucas did to the Star Wars movies anything ANYONE does to a franchise will be tame by comparison.
